These are two herbs that have different properties , one for muscle inflammation , and the other ( huperzine ) prtects acetylcholine levels in the brain for improved neuro function.
Does anyone have personal experience with these ?

Ann, I took Devil's Claw and got no results.
However, I recently tried huperzine, and noticed something strange.
My insomnia improved. At least, I'm falling asleep sometime in the evening, even if I only sleep five or six hours.
Before this, I wasn't going to bed until after 3 a.m., and might not be able to fall asleep.
Last night, I lay down at 8 p.m., hoping to nap for an hour, and woke up at 2:30 a.m. Hmmmm.....
I can't say that I'm actually feeling any better. In fact, the reason I'm lying down to meditate and nap in the evening is because I feel lousy.
I think I should look into acetylcholine.

Carol, You can do a search on huperzine and find studies that say it improves neuro function and has been beneficial even for alzheimer patients ( better than some drugs ) .
I took a drug that depleted acetylcholine ( 20 yrs ago ) and developed insomnia and anxiety .
Have you tried any of Buhner's herbs like andrographis ? Have you found anything that seems to help you ? Thanks for sharing !

Carol, I found an article about huperzine A and some of the studies for alzheimers patients indicate the dosage for the studies was sometimes 400 mg daily .
You might check out some of the studies . Another article indicated better results by one lady ( who felt she got GREAT results ) at a higher dose ( 400 mg ) .
It sounds like you are definitely getting some benefit from it .

I've taken huperzine A since around May of last year. After having my air hunger under control for quite awhile it came back when I started abx. I determined via muscle testing that huperzine A would resolve the air hunger and it did. I take 200 mcg per day.
Are you sure that this woman took 400 mg per day?? That is huge - 200 X's more per day than I take. Studies have used between 50mcg-200mcg. I think 400mg must be an error. Terry

Correction : 400 mcg according to studies done in China.
I would probably not take more than 200 mcg either .

I have taken Devil's Claw for over 14 months now. I consider IT one of my top two herbs for lyme symptoms. The other being Sarsaparilla.
I would NOT want to be without it. THOSE are the TWO herbs I take the most of.
I got wonderful results with it, back in 2005 and have never looked back. BUT I took it NOT ALONE, but also with Sarsaparilla and Cat's Claw.
I had been taking ONE Sarsaparilla and ONE Cat's Claw a day with NO noticable results. BUT when I added in ONE Devils' Claw to TWO of each of the others, it was like a miracle. My vision got SOOOOO much better, along with the arthritic pain.
