I woke up this morning with a painful lump about the size of a pencil eraser on the left side of my neck, just below where my jaw and neck meet.

I thought it was probably just a weird clogged pore or something, but now it's about the size of a quarter in diameter and is visibly sticking out. It's painful to touch and it hurts to turn my head.

I don't know if this is lyme-related (don't think I've ever seen that as a symptom), but it's very odd... any ideas, explanations or advice would be appreciated!

Well, a call to the doctor is in your future ! Always best to call if there are new "happenings" in the body!

There are lymph glands under the jaw, which can get clogged and swollen. Soft manual massage, detox stuff, etc. can help, if that is the problem.

I had a walnut size lump there that the original BlindDuck dx'd as Code 0000.000 which is "hmmmmm"

Next year, same dx : "hmmmmm"

Tx for tbd's , and Vodder massage (google that one, it is a special technique for lymph drainage) got rid of them.
I was elated and proudly displayed my wrinkled but perfect neck to my new MD, who was pleased, too!

I agree with a call to your LLMD.

I have had lymph nodes swell in that area. They are painful to touch and did cause pain even without moving my neck.

I still have swolled lymph nodes all over (my LLMD thinks bart related), but walking has helped.

They are not so big and swollen, but some days they still hurt.

Hope you feel better soon.

Lymph node, I'd guess. My LLMD had me do a 5 day zithromax run to get rid of mine. It helped a lot. Definitely call the LLMD and see what can be done.

Hi notcrazykate

Both myself and my son would get lumps, for us they were swollen lymph nodes.
Hope you find out exaclty what it is, and the pain goes away.
