i was wondering about any experiences with Wellbutrin XL..
i was prescribed this by my doctor for depression.
i was wondering if i can take it along with percocet and klonopin for aniexty??
is there any side effects when taken with those meds?
also, i am on bruhners core protocol and i was wondering if i can take the wellbutrin also and does it interact badly with the herbs??
any suggestions or input??
i also heard wellbutrin can increase seizures?? has anyone else heard of this?

I took it and it increased my muscle and numbness symptoms. Helped a little for attention but anyway I have given it up.

I am currently taking wellbutrin - 300mg, but I
am also taking 100mg of zoloft. I used to be in
250mg of zoloft, but my doctor wanted me to ween
off the zoloft - he felt that it wasn't the best
choice. So to help ween off I was put on
wellbutrin. It's hard for me to say because I
haven't used it on its own, just in combination.
I assuming that it helped with my withdrawls
from the zoloft and I didn't have any side
effects. From what I know it's a lot easier to
start and stop than an SSRI, but I responded
better to the SSRI - Im going to swith to
lexapro after everything levels out. I don't
know if herbs will intefere with the wellbutrin.
I know that there are some that interfere with
SSRI's. I hope you start feeling better no
matter what you choose to do. I am at that place
to right now trying to get my mood and emotions

can really help, can really aggravate. worth a try, but may be a failure. unfortunately with lyme and psych meds, cases are unique and unpredictable. rage is common with wellbutrin in most non-lyme patients, but levels off to be a helpful drug in many (including myself once.) in lyme patients this may be more unpredicatble. and my either cause to be a permanent mess as long as you are on the drug or just not be enough to have an effect. tolerance for dopaminergic drugs grows fast, it may only work for months, especially in illnesses tied to a hyperglutaminergic state. like lyme.
i tried it again. and it was up down, up down. did not get myself back.
may work synergistically with anti-glutamate meds like lamictal or namenda.

From observation and interaction with many psychiatrically dx'd folk like myself, it is clear that each person has a unique way of reacting/responding to psych meds.
The whole area is more art than science.
I took Wellbutrin for 5 years, and for 5 years I was in a deep mental fog. Of course, I didn't know then, but I had Lyme Disease. They told me the fog was my psych condition. Then I switched to prozac, the fog lifted, but Prozac caused me to have unbearable joint pain.
I then went to a psychiatrist who specialized in "treatment resistant" depression, she wrote out a protocol for me. Over a year or two, my home psychdoc and I went through the list, and finally, finally came up wiht a workable combo.
I know that might sound discouraging. The point of the story is that each person responds to psych meds in a unique way, and that what works for some, may not work for others and so forth.
I think for me, it was complicated by the fact that I am very chemically sensitive, perhaps because of the Lyme. The dosages I take now, are generally considered to be sub-therapeutic dosing. But they work.
What is most important is to find a doctor who will work with you on finding the "right" meds. A therapuetic alliance is worth it's weight in zyprexa! (a very expensive psych med)
