I have been treated for Lyme and Bartonella for almost 3 years (infected when I was 8).
My almost 4 year old, who had tested negative so far, just tested positive, even per CDC standards
We're starting treatment ASAP but I'm wondering how to monitor his progress. Aside from catching every single virus that comes along (he's got IgG 4 deficiency), his only complain is knee pain.
Can we trust blood work to show me how the disease is progressing?
Any thoughts?

I cant help you but I just want to say I am sorry. I know as a parent I would much rather have an illness than my child.

Sorry about your child.
I would find a practioner doing ART that could follow his progress. That's what I did to my daughter (she was 2 when she got bitten 3 times last summer). She got worse and worse under amoxy and I'm happy that I took her there.
It's amazing what ART done by a good practioner can do. He can still take abx and any other treatments, and ART can help you know what are these treatments doing to him.
She's symptomless now (so far), no more fatigue and GI symptoms, and I'm next to be in remission. At least, I feel close.

Hi Christelleny,
Consider incorporating hyperbaric oxygen along with her antibiotic therapy.
It will help her to maintain a healthy immunne system, facilitate the abx crossing of the bbb.
Over all, she is too young to have this disease so try and offer her the least invasive treatments.. just IMHO..
