Okay, I know I am the Queen of Weird Symptoms. I searched this, but did not find an answer to this new symptom.

In the last 2-3 weeks, I've noticed on different areas of my body, areas that are very sore.

Sore to move, sore when not moving and very sore to touch.

When I palpate the area, it looks blue, like a bruise under the skin, but I feel a definite lump or cyst type bump.

I had my neighbors, who are both RN's look at this to make sure it is not a DVD.

Yesterday, I had one on the side of my knee that caused pain around the whole knee all the way to my shin.

Today, I have one on the top of my upper right thigh.

No noticeable swelling of leg, no redness, no specific heat.

Does anyone know what this could be?

I am on a myriad of antibiotics including

bactrim 1600 mg a day
doxycycline 300mg a day
zithromax 500mg a day
flagyl 250 mg 1 x a wk
diflucan 100mg 2 x a wk

Have a scheduled LLMD appt. for Wed, March 7.

Just curious if anybody else has this or knows what this could be.

I've had this occur mostly in my legs, but on my behind also. (Lucky me.....now I can say I am really a pain in the butt!)

I am off to take my daughter to the pediatrician as she is very ill, again.

Any response is appreciated and I thank you in advance for your consideration.

Thanks,

Geneal

Sorry, I meant DVT's (deep veinous thrombosis) not DVD's.

That would really make me the Queen of Weird Symptoms!!!!!

I sometimes feel lumpy things under the skin, Geneal, that sometimes hurt with movement or pressure, or without movement or pressure. But I have never actually been able to see them or see any bluish bruises... I can only feel them.

The things I have considered are cysts and/or small parasites of some sort. That is all I can really offer for now. But I was wondering if you notice whether medications have an effect on this? Better or worse with medications?

So glad they aren't DVD's, at least. That would be a unique problem!

Hope your daughter is well soon.

Dear ClairNotes,

Sometimes I even crack myself up....DVD's indeed!

I guess as the skin on my legs are real blotchy, maybe the blue is just veins..

I had one on malarone/zith combo. But, they do seem to be popping up all over with doxy/flagy/zith/bactrim combo.

Maybe there is a link. I will definitely pass this by my LLMD on Wed. and let you know what he says.

My little girl may have pneumonia...again. Am going to get my LLMD to fill out Igenex paperwork for her this week also.

Too many infections, strange complaints and with the history of both myself and my husband with Lyme....well, I need to know.

My son will be next....

Thanks so much for the reply. It does make me feel better to know someone else is "lumpy" too.

Hugs,

Geneal

Hi Mags,

Thanks for the prayers. I really appreciate them.

The bumps are not itchy. They actually cause pain in the tissues and tendons surrounding them.

They are under the skin, so I haven't tried anything topical on them.

I have been trying to take baths lately. No epson salts yet. I have no idea, but this has to be either related to Lyme/co-infections, or all of the antibiotics.

Thanks again for keeping my children and myself in your prayers.

The nodules can be a symptom of bart. Have you been tested for this infection?

Posted by Geneal (Member # 10375) on :

No, I haven't been tested for bart....however, I believe that is my next round of treatment as per LLMD.

I knew it had to be related to something.

Thanks a great deal for the information.

Seems whenever i go on Flagyl I break out in bruises-clusters of bruises, usually on my raod maps for legs, looks like someone has been poking me with their finger.

LLNP said sometimes "lyme rash" can present as bruises. [confused]

I suspect Bartonella, too. Sometimes I feel the nodules in my lymph nodes under my arms. I have read off and on here that this is a bart specific symptom.

The whole family?! I feel overwhelmed with only one child with LD. Anguishing that children have to go through this! But I do think that their recovery might be easier than ours. That is the hope, anyway.

Dear Clairenotes,

I am really starting to suspect Lyme in my 5 yr old, or that I may be harboring the pneumonia bug!

I have to take my daughter tomarrow for yet another chest x-ray, as they hear something in the bottom of both of her lung lobes.

From what I have seen, children do seem to respond better and quicker to antibiotics for Lyme.

I am encouraged by that, although I am devestated of the thought that my children may be suffering even some of the symptoms of Lyme.

I know that my five year old had a tick crawling on her last summer, but it didn't embed. I don't think it bit her, but who knows.

When I was dx with Lyme, I immediately took my children to their pediatrician who did put them on two weeks of penicillan, I think to appease me.

Will be asking LLMD this week as to what he thinks the best course of action would be re: children. I am still going to have her Igenex tested.

I am a little concerned re: all the antibiotics she has been on and test results, but feel that I need to do this.

As Mother Theresa said "God never gives you more than you can handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much".

I do have several enlarged lymph nodes, especially in the groin area. May have Bartonella rash as well.

When I look at the pics of bartonella rash, mine looks suspiciously like the last one.

We shall see. Thanks for the caring support. I really appreciate it.

Yo ho G...

Bart does come to mind.. but so does the fact you are killing off so many organisms right now with that protocol. It could be a toxin overload with the die-off clogging up lymph nodes.

Of course I am not a doctor.. do know.

You MIGHT want to see if a warm moist washcloth set on the area for a bit might help clear it up after a day or so. Also.. LOTS of water.. drink it ... don't just bathe in it.. with a touch of fresh lemon juice may be helpful.

Sorry to hear about the whole family too! Your bucket is overflowing in more ways than one! Hang in there!

Ok.. I can't help myself.

As soon as I saw the title to this post I laughed out loud. Still grinning...

Several years ago someone who was having problems and needing help posted a title...

"Lumpy pussy bites"

Needless to say.. it got a lot of responses.

[Big Grin]

Bet tutu remembers it.. and several others who have been here a long time.

Ok.. I'm done giggling...

HA!

Dear Tincup,

Okay....that really made me laugh. However, that is about the only place I don't have those strange lumps!!!(At least I think so)

Your right though. I am in the middle of a Major herx. Back on doxy since last week, along with the flagyl and it is kicking my behind.

I am overloading with purified water. Hoping to flush this a little quicker.

Thanks for the response and the laugh.

Have ya got fingertips?

If so.. you MIGHT want to VERY VERY VERY gently .. with some light lotion.. GENTLY.. and I mean that.. GENTLY massage one small section.. for only a couple of minutes to help get the flow going.

I do NOT recommend doing it with any more force than you would do a babies face. Got it?

AND.. I would ONLY do one leg a day.. or one samll area. To do it all at once dumps all that junk back in the system. NOT good.

Also.. always massage towards the heart!

Hope that helps some!

Feel better soon, Flagyl butt!

The other night I was setting by my friend and I started moving my arm. He said " is your lyme hurting". He reached down and rubbed my arm and said he could feel it - he went right to the spot where the pain was. A little later it moved down to the bottom of my arm, again he felt my arm and went right to the spot. I can not see the lumps but apparently they are what is causing my pain. An article I found last week,
TCM Herbs: Lyme Disease quotes "A person is also likely to feel cysts, lumps and swellings in different areas of their body that often change and move. The bacteria walls itself off, and creates an environment in which it can grow and thrive and the person with the disease ends up in severe pain".
