Hi Everyone,

First, I am so thankful for this forum. You all have been so very helpful to me. Thank you!!!

Second, I just received another round of results this time from Stonybrook...but I need help figuring it out. Under Lyme Disease Serology the REACTIVE box is checked. On the next page it says Western Blot
IgM - INDETERMINATE &
IgG - INDERTERMINATE. "CDC specific" reactivity IgM:41 & IgG: 41 and 58 and other non-specific bands. Under comments it says WB IF BL. OR POS.

Can anyone tell me by these results if I have Lyme Disease...cause my symptoms sure tell me I do. However, all the doctors have told me "I DON'T HAVE LYME". That doctor will NOT call me back to explain these results. Like most of you I am beyond frustrated. Any help would be forever appreciated. THANKS NANCY :-) [confused]

Welcome! I agree, that this message board is an abundent source of information and also emotional support. Many of the folks on here really KNOW what they are talking about.

As for advice: I think the first thing everyone is going to tell you about is to find an LLMD. Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. They are hard to find, but they seem to be the only ones who take Chronic Lyme seriously. Lymetoo can give you more information on doctors in your area.

Next, your LLMD will surely have information on IGENEX. IGENEX is the only lab that my LLMD trusts to do the western blot test. IGENEX has enough testing to give positive overall test results on much less strigent requirements as the other labs. The other labs use CDC requirements which I have read would give negitive results to 90% of the people who indeed suffer from Lyme. Igenex will also list every band tested and give you information as to the activity along that band. Other labs will simply give you a POS or NEG overall test result.

For more information on IGG and IGM and what those types of tests are... be sure to check out the newbie link at the top of the message page. It is full of lots of information that is vital to know as you fight the Lyme. Best of luck!

cancun, in the newbie links/advise i sent you, look for:

Dr. C's explanatiion ofWESTERN BLOT IGM AND IGG. click on that link and then find the positives you had and read what the numbers say about them.
