This is my "fortress" for the day and if you do it every day you will set the stage for alkaline pH and get all the fiber necessary to get and keep the gut healthy.

While the coffee is brewing, first thing in the morning I make a quick mousse by chopping together small pieces of a combination of any of these. It takes minutes to put together and you will feel better the whole day:

Pineapple -
Apple
Carrot
Rutabaga
kohlrabi
avocado
Red beet if you like the red
Any melon
Broccoli
Fig
Someties I add an egg yoke or two
If you tolerate it, add a t-spoon of cold pressed walnut or any other oil

And whatever else you can think of or is in season. It should be fresh. I start out one day with a large pineapple, leave the Christmas tree on it and just take a bottom slice off for the day; set it on a plate, and continue taking off slices the following day until I need to start a new pineapple. Same with some of the fruits - use just pieces of it. Not cooked or frozen - FRESH

I use this little blender that needs no engineer to put together or quickly rinse out. I use it several times a day when cooking meals, and it works for the quickest whip cream/fruit deserts in seconds. Black & Decker EHC650 Ergo 3-Cup Food Chopper $15. at Amazon.com. Walmart used to have it here, but I can't find it any longer there. (makes the best baby shower gift!)

I take this little chopper with me when I travel! With a small converter for foreign countries.

I hope you will try this - it's a great base to start the day on! And it tastes good too.

I would give anything to have the desire to create in the kitchen again.

I just can't do it anymore....It's like doing taxes. YIKES! And I used to be a pretty good cook.

I need a wife....a wife who enjoys the kitchen...that would be lovely!

I'm with you, Carol Ann. I need a WIFE! I used to cook for an entire family every day....no "fast" foods for us! I had a tight budget too.

Oh, and I'd like my wife to be as meticulous about having a clean house as I used to be. Now I just leave cleaners around the house instead of in cabinets just in case I have the energy to clean something for 5 minutes.

I have been in my new house for a year now and I have only been able to vacuum the entire thing twice.....and the last time I cleaned only one room a month!

Then there is the social director I miss. Would love my wife to plan a few events, like taking me out to a movie on the spur of the moment if I felt I could get out or arranging a picnic in a pretty setting.

And she could make sure the car was gassed up and clean after she did all the grocery shopping. Reading to me in bed would be heaven, since my eyes can't find each other a lot of the time.

I can think of so much more for a wife to do but I'm depressing myself. Guess for now (and forever) I'm on my own! Nice to dream though.

thanks GiGi! I can attest to the deliciousness of your whip cream/fruit desserts. we even bought one of those blenders. I can't eat dairy anymore, so thanks for the new recipe to play with [Smile]

I am always looking for new ideas for breakfast. My daughter and I eat avocados or a banana along with a whey protein shake in the morning and we are in need of some variety. This doesn't seem too difficult, even without a 'wife.'

My only question is about the egg yolk. Do you mean cooked? If raw, isn't salmonella a problem?

Thank you.

Claire

Thanks for the recipe, GiGi. Since this isn't juicing, would conventional fruits and veggies work? Organic is pretty lean up here in the winter. Thanks again for helpful tips.

Heiwalove, I mix it til it's smooth without large pieces - about 45 seconds, at the most.

Clancy, of course it would be nice to have organics. I use what I can find fresh and what we can afford. I don't get it at Wholefoods!!!!
A locally grown conventional apple is probably as good as one that comes from 10,000 miles away with all sorts exposures til it arrives in our kitchen.

I have seen cauliflower in the same identical wrapper, same grower, looking identical, same size, one labeled organic, the other not. Priced 3x as much. I have my doubts about all that foreign grown organic produce, in our off seasons. I like to stick with local farmers.

The pineapple and the apple make you want to do it again next morning. The fiber is most important as mop-up for toxins.

I do not worry about salmonella and do add a raw egg yoke when I feel it's needed. You could probably add a cooked yoke. But I do not want to be heavy on protein because I want to keep the alkalinity the basis for the rest of the day when meats/proteins come into play.

Take care.

Good stuff, Gigi!

I totally agree with local produce!

Am trying 50% raw diet per day. Feel great!

I keep a tray of 'crudite' in the fridge and when I want to graze...well, it is there!

Gigi many thanks for posting.

Do you use the skin of fruits/ veggies? (not the pinaple, but apples, carrots, kohlrabi, red beet, figue etc...?

thanks!

I eat for breakfast what S. told me: a sort of semi-cooked stuff though, to warm me due to bartonella chills.

I warm water with millet then add fruits, stevia, crushed flaxseed, sesame seeds, ghee butter, cinammon/ galgant/ ginger/ kardamon. I'm thinking to try to add your uncooked 'paste' in the end, to see what it'll taste.... [Smile] I'll certainly not be hungry for many hours!!!
