Has anyone experienced the symptoms of sinus infections with Lyme disease?
I constantly have head pressure, pain in my cheeks, post-nasal drip, and I always seem to be clearing my throat.
I had a CT scan of my sinuses to look for any blockages. It came back clean. It didn't even show any mild inflammation.
I never have had problems with allergies prior to getting Lyme. Can Lyme cause new allergies?

I developed the post-nasal drip and throat clearing since being sick. It seems to be worse with certain antibiotics, so I don't know if that means it's related to a herx, or yeast, or whether it's Lyme or a coinfection. It also makes me cough.
I don't have any particular solutions except that mine had gone away for a while and is now back.

I've had unremitting nasal congestion (rhinitis) and sinus infection for the 12+ years of my illness. Haven't been on antibiotics as of yet.

When I first started drinking Ultra mangosteen juice, I had post-nasal drip for about an hour. I don't normally experience sinus problems, so I was surprised. So the juice cleared out the sinuses immediately.
Am thinking it could be an interesting experiment if any of you with sinus problems wanted to try the juice to see if it impacted your sinuses as quickly as it got mine.
If you try the juice, drink a lot of water with it.

PBizzle When I saw this post I couldn't open it fast enough! I thought I was going to find a way to get rid of my post-nasal drip and pressure. I've posted here before about this very topic. I can only empythize I have no answers. I never had allegy issues before my Lyme diagnosis either.
This has been one of my symptoms from the beginning, 3 years, I realize it's not not dibilitating, but it sure is annoying!! It does wax and wane, but only slightly, I have it constantly.
I drink tons of water and I've tried mangosteen juice, it did not help.
Maybe someone will repond with an answer.

You now, this was, like the fever I had for 4 years+, one of my few remaining symptoms that cleared up on cipro!!! Doesn't mean it would work for others, we are all so different, but who knows>!?!!! I had given up in it being a symptom of anything, just thought it was some kind of damage, but ta da!! Cipro cleared it up in a week or so!!!!!!!! Very glad because it was kind of embarassing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always had to carry a tissue in my pocket-!!

I've had many sinus issues since I became ill. Two ENTs, CT and MRIs show evidence of previous infection but nothing current.
Tried many treatments with no relief, have been on many different combinations of antibiotics, tried Diflucan alone etc..
This has also caused eye symptoms, assuming the sinuses behind and in the corner of the eye have been involved also. Sphenoid and ethmoid respectively.
Since adding Rifampin to my regimen in November, the flu like feeling is gone, dizziness is FINALLY 85% better, pressure in ears and cheek bones gone, blind spot in one eye is gone.
The post nasal drip has greatly improved as is the cough. I still have swelling around the eye and light sensitivity, but much less eye pain.
The Rifampin still has some work to do though. And I must add, it's not an easy regimen.
