Is intolerance against stimulants (caffeine, ritalin...) a typical symptom for a special co-infection?

With intolerance I mean - in my case - a) skin reactions, b) head pressure, c) hyperactivity

i get jittery, nervous, and literally bounce off the walls when I have caffeine. Even coke, orange, tea, anything with caffeine sends me into a dizzy.

When adrenals are affected by lyme its hard for the body to deal with stimulants.

If you are affected that way, watch out for epinephrine in novacaine shots at the dentist, too. It has put me into absolute crevulating shakes.

You can ask for novacaine without epinephrine.

Do high andrenal levels have any other effects too?!

This might be important for me - because I do not react on any antibiotic drugs since I had that relapse which caused my intolerance against stimulants!!

Could there be a link? Has a high adrenal level immune-weakening properties?

Wrotek, you might want to do a saliva test to see how well your adrenals are functioning. If your cortisol level is seriously low, you might want to consider Cortef supplements below 40 mg a day to increase your levels to normally bioavailable levels. It is a natural hormone replacement of cortisol.

High adrenal levels can make people feel very anxious and can make it difficult to sleep.

Xerxes, I don't know if the body can produce cortisol levels high enough to compromise immune function. I am aware that cortisol supplements above 30-40 mg a day can cause immune depression. I am also aware that very low cortisol level depresses immune finction.

For more info you can google for adrenal fatigue or read the book Adrenal Fatigue by James R. Wilson.
