Who has had the longest herx on a SINGLE antibiotic dose?

For me: Zithromax 250mg, been herxing for 6-7 days now and no sight of relief! (is this normal) [Frown]

Ending my second week on 1000mg of Zith/1000mg of Ceftin/1000mg of Tindamax a day and have been miserable most of the time. I have had minor let ups in symptoms at times but they come right back.

They say if the meds are working you'll feel worse before you fell better. If thats true we have to hang in there. Good luck

Just reread your question: If you're saying you had only one 250mg Zith tablet and are still herxing 6 days later I very much doubt its a herx. Its more likely the symptom flair that occurs every few weeks with Lyme

Sounds like you may have created some toxins that your body is having a hard time getting rid of. Perhaps metals or biotoxins from dead bugs?

Have you had you glutathione IV since taking the zith? Have you used other methods of detox such as binding metals or endotoxins?

I'm no expert on glutathione IV's but I would not feel comfortable that all the many detox needs are being handled by that.

Amoung many other things, I've used systemic enzymes between meals for the past year to help with the constant die off.

Could be the monthly herx, the toxin build-up or yeast. Make sure your diet is clean!

Gee this is an interesting question....

I had mega doses of meds Iv's/oral combo's and straight oral combo's for 8 yrs non stop - yup non stop straight thru.....

And I herxed the WHOLE 8 yrs!

Try glutathione, it has really helped me get through horrible herxes.

Feel better.

How in the world did you herx 8 years!

Byron,

It seems that those of us whose lyme has been untreated for years have a high bacterial load, and can herx for a long time. I have been having the die-off reactions on and off for over 8 months.

My daughter is in constant herx. I haven't seen her look rested and happy in years.

Byron...

I was bit in 1985 - not dign. until 1990 at which point I was hit and hit hard - one day standing the next not, amoung other things.

I had extreme NEURO lyme.

Yup 8 yrs of hell and pain everyday of my life back then, I hurt from lyme and I hurt from herxing the whole time, never let up - never had a break hense the constant ongoing trials of oral's and IV's at the same time.

Back then no one had a clue of what to give to help the herxing let alone what was good for treating lyme as I had it. I took no pain pills, and no antidepressant med worked for me either - so I did it solo so to speak and fought for my life.

I got better ONLY when I decided against doc's wishes (as I was told I would die) when I STOPPED ALL MEDS!

I took the yeast route after that and whalla in 2 yrs I was 90%. (I also herxed with the yeast).
