So far I have been on doxycycline 100 mg, fluconazole 200 mg, nystatin, ceftin 500 mg and flagl. I have never had a herx yet. Is this unusual?

Hello,
Maybe your herx is mild and the same as your symptoms.
For instance I have never had a severe herx, I just notice more sensitivity to sunlight, I notice more itching on my scalp, tighter pulling on my hair, things that always go on.
My Dr. recommended stopping when I noticed anything and that is what I do. Sometimes I only take 1-3 antibiotics a week to keep from herxing too bad.
It is my understanding that when you are taking the right antibiotic for your infection, you will herx. Everyone is different.
Hope you have a nice Easter.

I don't know about the dose of the rest of your meds but the dose of doxy that you are on is not going to kill lyme.
Increasingly, clinicians recommend that certain drugs used for Lyme disease be given at higher daily doses: for example, 3,000-6,000 mg of amoxicillin, 300-400 mg doxycycline, and 500-600 mg of azithromycin. Some clinicians prescribe antibiotics using blood levels to guide higher doses. Close monitoring of complete blood counts and chemistries are also required with this approach.

What are you currently taking? [and dosage]

I started out taking:
doxycycline 100 mg. He gave me 100 pills with no refills. I took two of these a day until they were gone.
I also take nystatin 50000u I started out taking 2-4 tabs for three weeks. I am taking 4 a day now.
When the doxy was gone I was to move onto ceftin 500 mg. and I took two a day . He gave me 60 pills.
The he had me start on zithromax 250 mg. and I took two pills a day.
After that he had me take:
flagyl 250 mg. He had me start with 1/4 of a pill and slowly increase intil I got up to 3 a day.
With my mind I probably am not doing it correctly.

That all sounds right to me. No reaction at all on the flagyl??? Amazing!
How much fluconazole have you taken?
Maybe you could try Diflucan all by itself for a few weeks to see if indeed yeast is your main problem? [as per your PM to me]

I know the doc's wish of you NOT herxing,,,means too much too fast. I think its a GOOD sign of NOT herxing. Question is,,,do you feel any better??? Slow and steady win the race!! If you feel better, just keep doing what you are doing. If your NOT better,,,call and ask for increasaed dosages.
