My gastro didn't tell me to stop but I received a letter from Novartis that stated the FDA had pulled Zelnorm from the market on 3/30/07.

Very interesting. Do you know why it was pulled? My gastro kept insisting that this was the new "wonder drug" for my stomach issues. This was about 1 1/2 yrs. ago and honestly when I took it, my stomach/bowel issues got worse!
Was just wondering what was reasoning for FDA to pull it off the market??????

I don't have the link to the study, but please google it and read it for yourself.

We talked to the doc about this, and some have the opinion that is was pulled even though it only was dangerous to those who have heart conditions.

Thanks for posting this.

I was on Zelnorm when it first came out, and I took myself off of it because I began to have gall bladder pain/symptoms.

A later abdominal scan showed that I now have "sludge" in my gall bladder, and didn't before.... [Mad]

Now that you mention it, I did develop a lot more heart palpitations after being on the Zelnorm and I'll bet there is a connection there, too.... [cussing]
