I wrote here last spring. I have been having weird bug crawling sensations now for 6 years. I had a brain and c-spine MRI last year, everything normal, except for a bad sinus infection and a bulging disk.
I went to my neuro yesterday, she wanted to do a spinal tap, she said, you don't have lupus, your sed rate is fine, No MS, no multiple myeloma, No RA, ANA is fine, thyroid excellent etc....
I asked her if I could repeat the brain MRI because of it being over a year since I had the last one.
She said ok, maybe we'll do a spinal. I have read that a spinal is not that reliable for MS or Lyme. Is that true?
She mentioned a metabolic profile, when I got home and looked at my script it wasn't on there.
I called the office, they asked her and what she had written on there was sufficient. This was, sed rate, T-3, T-4, TSH, hemoglobin, and lyme titers.
I am making an appt with Dr. S in Pa, can I ask for now to have WB done, do they do this at a regular testing lab?
Would this be better than the ELISA for now?

Well an ELISA is worthless! Yes they do a WB at regular labs like Quest but they are worthless also, they don't even look at all the bands! Have it done by IgeneX it is the best lab, and most reliabe.
A MRI or spinal tap are NOT reliable for picking up on lyme disease or MS (which is caused by lyme anyway in my opinion). The only one that would come close would be a Brain spect and you would have to have it done at a good hospital (Columbia Pres. NY)
Have you ever been tested for lyme before(western Blot)? If you have, post the results (the bands that are + & IND) here and we would all here you understand them.

Skip the ELISA....waste of blood and money.
Skip the spinal...dangerous.. and worthless for lyme testing

Spinal tap are useless-- Elisa is useless--
Go with WB from Igenix --
Even the WB test are very poor so dont put much faith in results--
The crawlies can be a symptom of Babs-- so check into it --Jay--
