I got Lyme in Feb. 2004. After a walk in the park I took a tick off my left arm 2 days later. I got the classic bullseye and took a series of doxy. Three weeks later I got many symptoms. Joint pain, swollen Lympth nodes, fatigues, horrible back ache. After going to a naturopath I felt a lot better in about 7-8 months. Acupunture, herbs, hot baths, and dietary changes made the difference. The only thing that has coninually gotten worse has been my asthma. After some very stressful times I got very run down the past few months and the symptoms returned with a vengence. My lastest blood test showed one band positive on the Lyme test. The first one I had showed nothing. I now show positive for Rheumatoid arthritis. My doctor says my whole system shows signs of inflamation. She also says my kidneys are weak. Also signs of some sort of parasitic infection. I wonder if it is Babseosis or Bartonella. My biggest complaint is my lack of breath. Also whenever the symptoms worsen I constantly feel like I have to urinate.

And babesia is a parasite/protozoa.

Lyme disease produces plenty of inflammation.

More on that here:

Getting rid of the inflamation is critical. It can cause serious organ damage.

1-eat a vegan diet, it is the least inflammatory.
www.drmcdougall.com has a great website.

2-clear out the parasites, heavy metals, yeast and anything else complicating your picture.

3-stay alkaline (use coral calcium if you have to) This makes a hostile environment for the lyme.

4-detox, detox, detox. If you are swollen, it is because you are not detoxing well. This could be due to your kidney issues and possibly liver issues too. Detox is especially important if you are killing the bacterias with abx or herbs. You need to clear out the toxins.

Do everything you can to back out of Rheum. Arthritis as fast as you can. That is horrible stuff!

It sounds to me like you need a full workup and tests for co-infections. You don't even know what you are dealing with and you need more answers. Most Lyme patients have systemic inflammation, elevated IgM and RA factor and sed rate tests. They all indicate nonspecific inflammation. Lyme causes inflammation...of many things.

salatheel,

I have the almost constant need to urinate too. I urinate well over 30 times/day every day. It's horrible. I've had it for three years. I also have the difficulty breathing too. My doctor says that is a symptom of babesia.
