I do not seem to be making much saliva at all and afraid it will hurt my teeth and gums? Any one else have this problem and know how to get rid of it. I am not on any meds for lyme right now. I stopped Buhner's protocol when I got positional vertigo and have not started back up again.
I take magnesium, some candida killers, and a few vitamins. Will start rifing again soon.
Anh ideas how to make the dry mouth(and eyes) go away? Thanks. Hiker

Hi Hiker 53
I wish I had an answer for you. I also have dry eyes & mouth~ For 3 reasons I think. One is the doxepin I take at night to help me sleep & also because I have secondary Sjogren's and also lyme.
The only thing that helps my dry mouth is sipping on water all day & the occational piece of sf gum. I don't like to chew alot of gum because of the sugar substitutes in them.
I have not found much to help my dry eyes. It tens to run bad in cycles. Washing my face frequently helps. I ahve tried just about every eye drops on the market & the only drops that seem to help a little are called "puralube ointment" I use before bedtime. As far as I know there are no perservatives in these drops.
hope this helps in some way.
blessings Dana

I got dry mouth, which then turned into dry eyes, which then turned into dry throat and lungs. ALL this dryness came when I was OFF
antibiotics, and was in the 28th day growth cycle. I also had gotten a herpes type sore on my mouth, and was so sick, I was thinking
that the herpes had triggered an autoimmune disease in me, like Sjogren's, as I had also become sick from the sun at this time, it may have just been lyme,
not an autoimmune, as I was tested for many autoimmune and nothing showed. AND the lyme/babesia treatment helped me.
It became severe. I was in a RELAPSE with lyme, and was put back on antibiotics, and things started to get better.
I find that it comes out though, at times if i herx too hard, when the immune is lowered.
Back then when it was severe, I was put on the Azithromycin and Flagyl, but I relapsed after the 2nd month while on it, so was put
on doxycycline and this helped me.
Are you on antibiotics? If not, you may want to go back on them.
ALSO, If I rifed, or used the zapper, I got even drier... possibly this was because these things were stimulating the immune?
I dont know.

My daughter has no relief from dry eyes/mouth.
She has had to trade off different brands of eye drops. Most burn, even if they are called "natural tears". Refresh seemed to work the best. She likes Optique, but I have a hard time finding it.
Dry mouth. She sucks on sugarless mints at night, and sprays with Oasis mouth spray.
Good luck.

biotene sells a product for dry mouth, in fact they sell a whole line of stuff...toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. but they have a special thing in a little bottle that you use when needed. it comes out in drops and you just put a few under your tounge or wherever you want. i live with it at my bedside. my dentist gave me biotene mouthwash for dry mouth to try. it use to be only in dentist offices but you can find it at most drug stores now.
