My nephew, who has "ground-in" Lyme like me (I kind of liked that expression, makes me think of "ground-in" dirt on your knees from kneeling in the garden - kind of descriptive) has a new symptom he'll be talking to his doctor about this week, but meanwhile I wondered if anyone here had this. He's fairly suddenly - to him anyway - developed problems with distance vision. Not something I've heard of with Lyme. The thing is, this seems to come and go. He'll be driving and see there's a sign and know what the sign is, but he can't focus. Night driving is tough, as the headlights halo (well, they do that for a lot of us over 50, I know). I told him he may need glasses for distance - he's 23 - and I would be surprised if his (semi)LLMD doesn't send him for an eye test. However, he thinks it's the Lyme flaring up as he's been off abx for about 6 weeks. Anyone get this? Trouble with far-away vision that comes and goes?

Hey Laurie,
For me, I have had MANY eye problems, and some I was born with and were made worse by the Lyme.
Over the past few years (I have not yet started treatment, just found out I have Lyme) I have experienced many problems loosing focus, I could never tell if it was the Lyme or what I was born with. Recently I figured out what I was born with should stay constant, so when I wake up and have days when I can not seem to get my eyes to focus it is not due to the disability I have by nature.
Now that does not mean that it IS caused by Lyme, but my doctor thinks it probably is. It is possible, due to the fact Lyme can affect the body's control of muscles, and focusing your eyes is completely muscular.
This is my experience, but I do not know if it is common. Hope this helps. And I hope your nephew starts feeling better and seeing better.

right now mine is so bad that by 5 or 6 pm in the day its all a "haze"
