My daughter has been on 400 mg of Doxy for 2 weeks now and is complaining of weird tingling in her hands? Is this a herx?

I had the same tingling in my hands that would come and go. I think they are a side effect of higher dose doxy. They eventually went away after a month or so.
Watch out for sun exposure and sun sensitivity. Doxy is the worst for this.

Numbness in the hands, as well as other parts of my body has been an ongoing symptom for me, so I would guess that this could be a herx.

I was on doxy for years at a lower dose for acne and I always had the tingling esp. after sun exposure. The higher dose for lyme gave me more tingling and a rash up both arms.... I tolerated it since the lyme was being killed...(hope so anyway)

tingling hands and feet are a symptom of lyme, it could be do to decreased blood flow from the body due to hyperoagulation or defense mode.
I have noticed that my hands and feet are usually cold but now they are better after 4 months of treatment, when the body is under attack or in a state of defense it draws all the blood to the body and away from the limbs. Ask someone to grab your hand and see if the say it is cold or warm, if cold... then you have this problem

neuro LD symptoms include tingling and/or burning sensations in hands, feet, legs, arms, etc. It is called "peripheral" neuropathy (nerve pain in the body's peripheral nerves).
Sometimes it includes muscle twitches, sometimes not. A poster above suggest that tingling in hands may be a doxy side effect. I don't know about that 1 way or the other. But I had the tingling sensations & burning skin for several months b/f I started abx. So in my case, it was not a side effect of any particular drug.
I do know that peripheral neuropathy can be a side effect of flagyl. Good Luck to your daughter.

Hey all...Im new to the site. From Dublin....havent seen any other Irish Lymies so far. Anyways...my first symptoms where pins and needles and numbness in my limbs. I was living in New Zealand when it all started....actually they were my only symptoms for about a year. Used to get worse when I woke up after a night out drinking. I put it down to ciatic nerve in my back as I was getting twinges around the same time. It all slowly went down hill eye problems...glandular swelling....sinus and throat problems and I am now being treated for Bartonella and lyme. This tingling and numbness has been constant for me plus cold hands and slight twitching now and then. Actually my biggest problems started when I was put on Doxy.......It seemed to just p*ss it off and I have been fighting the good fight since.

I used to have tingling of the hands a lot before lyme treatment. Especially at night I would wake up and they would be numb and tingling.
Also, when I pressed on the tips of my fingers, the impression would stay there. It would freak me out. I couldn't imagine what was wrong with me ~ little did I know...................
I don't have those symptoms anymore so for me it wasn't treatment, it was the lyme itself.
