my doctor said anybody with lyme needs to absolutely take digestive enzymes with every meal. I asked if he meant systemic and he said no they are different. He said we need both.

Is anybody taking digestive enzymes? and, if so, what brand.

Yes, I take Simalase by Tyler. A little expensive but a high quality brand.

Yes. My lyme doc recommended I take some but when I went to the health food store they did not have what he suggested but sold me a something else.

Going to take it to him when I see him next to make use it is along the same lines as what he wanted me to take.

Not sure why I am taking it. I do recall him telling me at the time....just don't recall why now.

mine said something about our stomachs being trashed from all the meds and not being able to properly digest and get the nutrients from our food.

ha, at least i think that's what he was trying to say.

I wasn't taking them through my mentioned weight-loss.

I was put on them just a week ago and they did seem to help me digest better and get a better appetite.

I take Apex Super Digestzyme (Z-22)

yes enzymes are essential to digesting food. Try to find a good alternative/natural digestive enzyme, all the man made/pharmaceuitcal enzymes are just about worthless!

I take Ultrase. It's a prescription. My LLMD believes the natural supplements aren't strong enough.

After all the heavy abx, I will never go without them, even though I've been off abx for about 3 years now. Helps a lot.

My doctor had me on Simalase with meals and vitalzym between meals for many months.

Finally though I had another doctor muscle test my supplements and Simalase was one that tested poorly. So I switched to another kind from Premier Labs. Both simalase and the new one served me well.

The vitalzym was very good at keeping my inflamation down. Now my doctor has switched me to another brand he likes even better. Inf-Zyme Forte by Am. Biologics. They are cheaper and I like that part better.

I use Enzymatic Therapy brand, Mega-Zyme 10 X; have used the American Biologics as well. I buy mine from vitaminshoppe.com.

Garden of Life O-Zyme digestive enzymes. Was interested to find years after I started taking them that they contain some amount of cats claw, ginger and tumeric. (See ingredients.) All anti-inflammatory.
