Hi,

I have gotten my CD57 checked twice; the first time, back in Jan 2007 it was 32. Recently I had it tested again and it was 12! I'm confused about what I've read regarding the CD57 test; some research seems to suggest this continued low count means I will never get better while other research suggests it's just a way of knowing that continued treatment is required - but there is hope of getting better. I'd be interested to hear thoughts and other's experience with this test? Has the research born true in many people here or is the CD57 marker not a foolproof way to test health? Best regards to all.

My LLMD has discontinued using CD57 as an indicator-unreliable in her experience with patients. Okay by me-saves me money.

Curious, Where did you get the CD-57 done in Beantown?

Labcorp, which has a few locations in MA, does the CD57 blood test. You do have to have a doctors order. My insurance has covered it, so far.

I think it is a reliable indicator though I do not believe it means you will not get well - just that more treatment is required.

My favorites for low CD57 are Raintree Cat's Claw and Mycology Research Coriolus.

Some LLMDs use it a lot to indicate treatment should be continued.

Mine was down forever, down to 13 at one point (normal is considered 60-360). A few months ago, I got it up to 60 for the first time. This was before my recent relapse, however...

Just because it has been low for a long time doesn't mean it won't go up.

I guess it is a helpful indicator but I would go by how you are feeling over everything else. [Smile]
