Hi everyone. I've always had help here with questions so here is another one. I have been battling with Lyme since July last year. In June of last year I had a c-reactive protein test done. I've had one done every year for the past 6 years just to be sure for heart disease. I've always had a reading of less than .05. I just had a c-reactive protein test and the results are off the charts at over 5.64 with the statement "at high risk of heart disease/attack". My SO says this is because I have Lyme and the C-reactive test is just showing inflamation, not necessarily heart disease. Has anyone had this kind of test result after having Lyme? Thanks for any responses you may have. As you might realize I am pretty nervous about this result.

Could be right....It would sure make sense to me. My C-reactive is normal, but then I take mangosteen everyday.

A good antioxidant may help your situation if it contains ingredients that work on inflammation.

My C-reactive protein was 0.8, range 0.0-4.9. I had been taking doxycycline before the test was run, so maybe that's why it was so low.

It's one way to measure inflammation. I can't remember specifics, but it can be elevated in other conditions in addition to Lyme and cardiac problems.

With Lyme, your body can react in all sorts of squirrely ways [spinning smile]

Hi Gailsy, My last CRP was 44.8, WAY above normal. I was told that it is also and indicator of inflamation.

I had constantly informed my docs that my joints were quite swollen and sore.

I'm unable to take pain meds since even the smallest seems to put me out, And I need to keep working to pay for my llmd!!

Still Tickn

CRP (C reactive PROTEIN)...like PSA (Prostate specific antigen - another protein - are MARKERS of inflammation. They are warning signals.

Fosamax, INCREASED my sis' CRP ...and TNF alpha...get this...WHILE she was on Humira to lower TNF alpha.

TNF alpha has many beneficial aspects. Too much is harmful.

This is really, really tricky...

Getting the body back in balance. The neurotransmitters, the hormones, the nutrients...are all out of whack...thanks to Bb.
