Someone mentioned in another thread that uncontroallable fears and anxiety was caused by Babs. I have had this problem for a very long time and just thought it was an emotional weakness on my part.
I have battled a social phobia for many years. I am in treatment for both babs and Bb. Is it just babs or does both cause this mental problem?

I heard it was from bart. Bart can cause anxiety, and agitation

Hi Sick,
I use to have extreme anxiety. I was scared of everything. I would go through spells of it that would last weeks at a time. It was very severe.
I have lyme and bartonella but I don't know which one is the culprit.
It has pretty much disappeared since I started treatment a year ago.

My mom & sister had extreme fears & paranoia. I have LD & Bart. I had some anxiety and aggression but NOT fear.
I believe that fear is caused from Babs. Seeing my sister & mom both have this symptom go away when they were finally treated for Babs proved it for me.
They both were too scared to eat at resturants. There are too many unrealistic fears to list. I would be the one to calm them down (to a point) But things really didn't get better until they were both treated.
My anxiety cleared up after I was on abx for some time. But I never came close to what they went through.

So what ABX were you taking when the fears finally went away?
I slowly developed a fear of driving on a bridge. It was so crazy and I felt so stupid but I couldn't stop the fear and the way my body reacted. I'd almost have a panic attack. I'd never had this problem before. It suddenly became worse after I started lyme treatment. It seemed to disappear however as suddenly as it arrived after I began taking bicillin on a regular basis.
Last fall I was back to riding roller coasters and for the first time in my whole life that small pit in my stomach when the coaster starts up the hill was no where to be found. I am still wary when I know I have to drive a high bridge, but am presently surprised when the fear feelings don't come. I'm now afraid the fear will come back when I'm not expecting it.
I will never make fun of people who are afraid to drive over a bridge again or any other fear again. Always thought they were being silly or just being dramatic. I now realize these fears are very real to the person going through it. It was a good lesson for me to learn.

This symptom has improved for me with ongoing abx tx (various abx).

It has greatly improved with treatment. Adrenal and serotonin support helped along the way.
Not sure which infection caused it.

I didn't think about adrenal support. I was using a hormone cream for adrenal fatigue when my fears finally went away.

i have terrible anxiety and a general feeling of always being scared, but not of something specific, its a terrible feeling to always feel that way, i am sorry you have this symptom, i have babs and lyme, hope you get some relief radha

In the most acute phase of my lyme disease, my fears dominated my life. They covered everything from driving on a bridge to being afraid of the Boogy Man. Also included were unrelenting, horrific nightmares.
Those things have passed away with my antibiotic treatment, as well as the physical feelings of anxiety, on the chest.

My daughter has bart and babs, so don't know which one is the culprit. It has improved with bartonella treatment, but now we have started babs treatement, and things are stirred up causing those symptoms again.
This neuro stuff is hard on all of us.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry you all have this same problem. At the same time, I am relieved to know it is part of this blasted disease. I have had emotional lability since I was a child.
Since I am now sure I was infected when very young and have had Lyme for 50 years, it explains soooooo much. I am just hoping that treatment will get this "stuff" out of my brain.
