hi just had gall bladder removed from acute stages of infection and gallstones.
i was released on friday night and the pain has been getting less and less as the hours tick on.
UNTIL just this morning when i awoke... a sharp stabbing pain, and almost a charlie horse like muscle spasm has come into my chest, just below the ribs, in the very center.
i broke out into a sweat, and cannot speak... the pain is very intense, much simular to what brought me into surgery... but how can this be if there is not a gallbladder?
Might anyone know what is going on? I have lyme disease, and babesia
(my friend is typing this for me as i lay here)
the hospital has told me to come back in, but i
just got out after 1 week stay, and well, thought
that my friends on the lyme board could help me more than anyone!!!
Any help please???

Get thee to the ER.
This can be caused by sludging or smaller stones in the billiary tree or pancreatitis...those are just two possibilities.
Get in the car or call an ambulance and get back to the hospital now.

GO TO HOPSITAL ER NOW! let us know later what is going on; get your friend to take you or by AMBULANCE! Posted by theviewfromthecurb (Member # 10310) on :
hi, i just took two oxycontin (as perscribed by hospital) and one lorazipam for muscle spasm control. the pain pills have taken the edge off for now. do you still think i should go?... If it can be controlled is this normal post op pain? thank you

The pain medication could easily mask a real medical problem.
GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!
Sudden increase of post op pain this far out from the surgery date is not normal, unless you have been lifting heavy objects and not paying attention to your body. In other words, being a bad patient.
In any case, you are not qualified to assess this at home. I am not qualified. What I do know is that it MAY very well indicate issues that need immediate medical attention. Not going could be dangerous. I am a trauma nurse..I would go now.
Stop futzing around and take care of yourself.

Please go to the hospital.
It could be a stone left in the common bile duct...
It could be something worse....
Don't ignore that pain.
I have had my gall bladder out, and did not experience what you are experiencing.
Sending you prayers.
Hugs,
Geneal

I had mine removed and ended up needing another surgery a week later as there were stones throughout the billiary tree and I was developing pancreatitis from it...the gall bladder and the pancreas share a tree like system of ducts that empty into the small intestine.
GO TO THE ER

I agree: go to the ER.
I friend had gall bladder surgery, and they had nicked a duct. She said she quickly swelled to what looked like a 6 month pregnancy.
They had to go back in to save her life.
Not a pretty thought, but you need expert help.

Anything you take is ONLY for the moment......! All it's doing is letting you stand the pain, till you get to the ER.
If it's hurting, thAre's somethin-going-on. Neaver 2nd guess any pain, unless it's between yr ear's. And get that check'ed out, unless it's just a head ach.
Last thing you need it Staff, to set into ya. What ever is cauzing it, AINT-RIGHT !

Hope you are doing well!!! I was told I might experience a change in GI function but after a week or two of things slightly different they went back to normal. Some people get nausea or gas after eating fatty foods after gb removal!! (Thank god I don't, I love fatty foods*)!*)!!
