Someone on this list said that Dr CRJ prescribed a 1000mg Biaxin dose, once per day, and said the jolt was important. Can that person explain what the rationale is? Why? Is a 500 mg dose too weak to work? Is twice a day not needed for slowgrowing lyme? or what? -- thanks

Doesn't have anything to do with J. Many phys would rx this way.
Not about kick
Macrolide meds, zith & biaxin have long 1/2 life and only need to be taken once a day.
google for more info.

My LLMD said the half-life of zithromax can last 10 days, Biaxin is shorter.
I use to pulse Biaxin/plaquenil once every 3 days and I would always herx 1.5 days after taking it then I woud feel a little better after the herx.
Now I am on Zithro and my herxes come and go as they please almost on a daily basis, seem to be more severe as well.
