anyone know how to access each state's health dept. reported cases?
of the 3 links shown above, they show total nos. only, NOT by county.
tincup, help us out further; how is this project being used please. i don't know mind helping, but explaining more than what you did above would be most helpful if it's going to take A LOT OF TIME on our parts.

58 counties
- Lyme infected ticks found in 42 counties - Deer ticks fond in 56 counties
I suppose that leaves 2 counties with no reports?

From 1998-2003, in Louisiana, 41 out of 64 parishes had reported Lyme disease cases.
I know they said they had only one case in one parish in 2006 (wasn't mine-go figure)
Trying to get 2004 and 2005 info now.

I'll see what I can find for Colorado.
We really ought to be reporting both HUMAN and DOG Lyme cases..... dogs that spend any amount of time outdoors are about 100 times more likely to get ticks and Lyme than people.......

Lucia Hui the California Department of Health Services Field Biologist who got Lymed- got Lymed on the job in one of those 2 Califorina counties "with no Lyme" and reported and documented the bite- I tihnk it was Inyo County if I remember right- I htink the other is Modoc- and it was counted as having been from another county because it goes by COUNTY OF RESIDENCE not where you actually GET BITTEN!!!!!!!!! Isn't that absolutely !@)@&@^% crazy? Oh those CA Dept of Health Services people!!! She was/is great, haven't talked to her in a while- but SHE couldn't get diagnosed or treated properly doing HER job!!!Illustrated how horrible it all is!!!
Anyway, she was always very emphatic about Inyo County during slideshows- IT HAS LYME*)!
Although you'd never know it...

If we look at dogs, it tells a different story. There have been 968 positive Lyme tests for dogs in Colorado....
Here's a map showing cases of Lyme and other diseases by state for dogs, and you can click on your state to see the counties; however, it does not state what time period this covers.......
General that is a amazing link. Guess this shows things are not reported correctly.
We live in Terrebonne Parish and they are only reporting 2. I have "4" with Lyme and know of 3 others that have it in our parish.

There are 23 counties in Wyoming.
I finally found some Lyme stats on the Wyoming Department of Health page, but the info is in PDF, and the processor in my computer goes crazy every time I try to use Adobe. All I could get was the stats from 2005.
2005: Albany County - 1 case Laramie County - 1 case Teton County - 1 case
Maybe somebody else can get the info - here is the page with links to each year:

105 counties for Kansas
3 cases in 2005....couldn't find the specifics for the counties.
interesting note that the late 90's [up to 2000] had numbers in the teens, but has dropped off significantly.
I wonder if that correlates to the amount of media coverage?

There are no reported cases of Lyme disease for the years of 2004-2005 in Louisiana.
The CDC really needs to change it's standards/protocol for survellience of Lyme disease.
Any ideas on how this is done???!!!
Can it be done?
I am up for another letter writing campaign...

I have copied all this and it will be used. Thanks BG for sending it out.. and I hope they do note it is only for states west of the Mississippi River.
I need to know where Lyme is NOT considered to be endemic basically. Oh.. and I need it ASAP!!! Of course. New development I am working on as we speak.

Hawaii - 5 counties 1 Reported case of Lyme in 1993 - no cases in any year since then through 2005
Montana - 56 counties 0 Reported cases from 1993 through 2005
New Mexico - 87 counties 2002 - 1 case 2003 - 1 case 2004 - 1 case 2005 - 3 cases
In 2006, there were 97 cases of Lyme disease REPORTED in Iowa.
These were from residents of 37 Iowa counties. *********************************************
Cases are documented from county of residence not necessarily were the disease was acquired .

Nebraska Has 93 counties,,if I recall correctly it said we had 2 reported cases of lyme in the whole state for the inclusive years of the chart.
Hogwash, we have many more,everybody I seem to talk to lately knows somebody else that HAS it,,but of course NON reported I spose.
Newspaper says the tier of counties norrth of me are hotbeds for getting infected and named about three for sures,,,and there has to be ALOT more than that roaming around wondering who hit them over the head with a barn door and forgot to yell 'fore'---warned!!!respectfully--just don--
