Could anyone give me some personal insights on the use of Mepron. I'm on month 2 of my treatment and have had some good herx reactions and positive results with the pain and pressure leaving my head. I 've been having this sensation of fluid draining past my ear tubes! I can think much more clearly than I have in years.

My concern now is that since I've started the Mepron, I've noticed I'm much more tired, sleepless, and have been experienceing some profound and unusual weakness that seems to increase with each day. Is this par for the Mepron course?

I am on month 2 1/2 of Mepron and have gone very downhill, with very bad herx, so tired/weak, Jumping Muscles, breathless, face keeps going totally numb and so poorly - I beleive this is to be expected and am told You have to go through it to get though it?

Rianna,

Thanks for the reply....You are describing almost exactly what I've been going though. I was thinking maybe the Lyme was coming back full force while on babesia meds. ( I'm taking Mepron/Azith and minocycline.) I does help to know that this is to be expected. The muscle weakness is a little scary though. I can barely make it to the top of my stairs without feeling the need to stop and lay down! Argh!

It was a long while ago when I did mepron for 7 months. About 9 ago whe I stopped.

I kinda remember being very tired and sleeping alot. But wait it gets better. Once you start to talk in clear sentences and actually think about doing light housework.......... You'll be ontop of the world.

I have to say mepron did wonders. Granted I am in the middle of a relapse and on malorone and art now.

Starting to recover from the relapse now and looking for a job.

If you are tired but still don't sleep I recommend a sleep aid. Just my opinion and it has worked for me.

Love and healing,

Heather,

Thank you for your words of advice and encouragement. I will ask my Dr. about a sleep aid. My eye bags are going to get thier own zip code if I don't get rid of them! I think if I got a really good nights sleep I wouldn't feel so bad!

Hope you are well soon.
