I stopped taking Bicillin a few months ago and have been wondering what to do with the six leftovers. Perhaps someone in this forum has a suggestion or need. I hope to be of help to someone.

I don't think giving away, to trying to sell meds is appropriate, peacemom....

I know you are trying to help, but don't think passing meds is a good idea.

The Bicillin is XL. I have no intention on selling them - just doing something with them other than throwing them out. I just can't believe I should throw out a drug that is in shortage and people are waiting for but I guess that is what I will do unless someone has a suggestion. Thanks.

I think it's good that you want to help people peacemom.
It's wrong to throw away good meds when there are people who can't get no help. And are "dying" with lyme.
I've given away meds for around a 1000 usd...

My foggy brain really wasn't thinking to deeply into the ramifications of donating meds. I thought maybe someone would know of an organization that would except them or something. I wanted to offer help and I don't like the idea of wasting things.I never intended on just giving them to just anybody. But the idea is off the table now. I'll ask my LLMD or the pharmacist and that will be that. Thanks for input.

I think that once meds have been dispensed...they are dispensed ...and cannot be used by anyone other than the individual to whom they we're prescribed...even if there is a shortage of some kind.

If you don't find an interested person in the bicillin a local vet may be interested. Seems such a waste to trash it. Liz( aka zil) Couldn't register with my name as someone else has it too.
