This board is supportive of ILADS doctors who treat lyme in non-conventional ways. No one likes it when an LLMD is pulled before the medical review board for treating a lyme patient with longterm antibiotics which others consider a dangerous and irresponsible practice.

One of the posters today has attacked an LLMD for using muscle testing. Muscle testing is something this poster was clearly not familiar with and felt was a total scam.

This poster has every full intention of reporting this LLMD to the medical board and there are some of you here at lymenet that support this action.

Folks, you are talking from both sides of your mouth. If you want your doctor to enjoy the freedom of treating you as he/she sees appropriate for your illness, then you better support every doctor's right to do the same thing, whether you agree with their method of treatment or not.

You have the freedom to choose which doctor you will work with.

Stop the insanity and disaster this poster is about to bring on us all.

Where are the moderators? We need a couple bans to take place if things get anymore out of hand...

Byron,
The best way to get the moderators is to email them directly. (Preferred over a PM) Include links to the questionable/objectional topics in your email.

They will then know where and wnat to look for.

Yeah, it sure is seeming whackier than usual around here.
This too shall pass. In the meantime S.O.B. (scroll on by).

Luvs, you are right, of course.

I was gone yesterday and only saw part of what was going on...... unbelievable.... and yet predictable.

Luvs2ride, I have also been wondering if reporting a doctor who uses muscle testing to the medical board is a good idea.

If a doctor has a proven track record of helping Lyme patients to wellness with ILADS-recommended procedures, then has one diagnostic method that is outside their guidelines, yet doesn't hurt anyone, I would say no big deal.

I think MRB's point was that relying on muscle testing for treatment decisions had the potential to do harm. I think that would depend upon how much the doctor depended on that method, or if the method was just for confirmation or as an experiment.

A second issue was the doctor's insistence on being the vendor of all supplements. I know of at least one ILADS doctor who feels this is an unethical practice.

If it were me in that situation, I would probably walk out, as MRB did. If this doctor was a member of ILADS, I might contact both her and ILADS to discuss my disagreements. I doubt I would report the doctor to the medical board, though I understand MRB's reasoning to want to do so.

Regards,
Shaz

Shaz

I too think MRB was legitimate both as a poster and as a shocked patient. I have no problem with her opinion nor her sharing the opinion here at lymenet.

You can research all my past posts and you will see I hardly ever get into heated debates, though my alternative views are frequently debated.

I just got really upset with MRB for her angry attack and wish to destroy this doctor. I would get just as upset if she were out to shut down the doctor for wanting to place her on longterm abx. I champion everyone's right to be treated as they choose. Someday, if I don't reach 100% wellness and if my doctor believes I should, I may want to use abx myself, and darn it, I don't want other people or doctors telling me I can't.

As others pointed out, there are so few doctors out here who even take lyme seriously at all, that we sure don't need to shut any of them down.

MRB did not base her feelings on any concrete evidence against muscle testing. She just shot from the hip and she was shooting one of our own LLMDs.

Ok to shoot the test, but not ok to shoot the doctor. That is my point.

luvs,

I can't agree more....this has gotten so out of hand.

I haven't been here long at all, and have been considering, not coming back. Between the drama with the one (and I know you know who), and the drama with this doctor and muscle testing....it's just infuriating.

I haven't started treatment yet, and I want all the avenues there for me when I go in two weeks. I have been sick for 20 years with no answers. Every system of my body seems to be affected, I am only 28, and have have two toddlers.....I WILL TRY ANYTHING TO GET WELL!

For me muscle testing or anything else, I'm ready for it, because obviously conventinal methods havent done much....

I said some of those comments, and I regret saying them, I was so angry and upset, that I just lost it.

I dont want to loose it again, it is tough to just sit back and not do anything, I am not the best at debates right now, and am going to stay out of them in the future.

I am getting worse, my head is a mess, my brain is not functioning, when anger is triggered I do things I dont normally do and I just dont like it, nor am I proud of myslf.

I dont know if I was well if I would do something like this, I have never had to deal with these kinds of debates, but I do know that I never reacted like this when I was well.

I am going to stay away from these things in the future.

Trish

One person making one complaint about a doctor is not going to do anything at all. Most people, on that now banned thread, didn't consider that when they started their angry tirades.
Isn't Dr. J. dealing with his nightmare because of one person's complaint? A disgruntled ex-husband.
