So, A couple of years ago, when I got my one filling removed, I was reading alot about saunas. I read a bunch on a yahoo group started by a gentleman that was really into mercury. I forget the guys name, but he wrote a book (or several) and was a big proponent of ALA in small doses every 2 hours etc. and seemed to be quite the authority.
Long story short, he hated FIR. Said it moved metals and he had really seen some people go from bad to worse with a FIR. He said that traditional saunas were much more effective at releasing metals slowly and had not seen people go downhill with them. He thought that a rock sauna was like two days worth of ALA. He also said stay far far away from FIR.
I have long since purchased a steam sauna, and take really hot baths. But lately, my skin has been getting itchy from this form of thermal heat, so I was thinking about adding a FIR or rock sauna. I've read some posts of people that have benefitted from FIR, and I guess I'm just looking for people whom own Rock or Fir saunas to confirm any benefit that they have might recieved.
Any Sauna owners out there that want to chime in?
Thanks.

I LOVE my FIR!!!
I have done regular saunas since purchasing my FIR (at spas). They do not have the same effect.
With a FIR you are sweating 80-85% water, but with a regular sauna, it's closer to 97% water.
With a FIR you definately get rid of more toxins.
If you're worried about moving around mercury, how about something like chlorella to mop it up?
