After being bitten in late April (30th I think) and initially receiving 3 weeks of doxy (200 mg twice daily), my symptoms did not clear.
I finally saw an LLMD last week (before my abx ended) and he prescribed more doxy (200 mg 2/day) and amox (500 mg 3/day) for an indefinite period of time.
I had 12 vials of blood drawn and am being tested for everything under the sun. If the tests come back negative, he will take more blood and send it to Bowen or IGenex for testing.
Should I be comfortable with this treatment? How good are my chances of "curing" this since we are treating this early.
I am frustrated. My symptoms are not any better. I actually slept all weekend, had terrible headaches, and my muscles and joints were so sore. I'm thinking this was from adding the amox. to my treatment.
Any words of advice??

Sounds like you were herxing over the weekend.
It sounds like a good starting place.
Hopefully you have no co-infections and do well.
Watch for sun burn with that doxy.
My skin would burn just sitting in the shade.
Are you on a good probiotic?
Watch your diet for yeast.

I am taking acidophilus and bifidus as well as eating yogurt with six different cultures in it.
Does anyone know if the Doxy is causing my off-balance symptoms or is it the Lyme? They get really bad in the mid-late afternoon.
