In "top 10 lyme treatments" book, they talk about a treatment that tells you to swallow salt and vitamin c. Does this work?
Thanks.

There is even a special site devoted to it.
I read for years and years here all about how great it was,,,always wanted to TRY it!!
All the info says how safe it is,how effective it is,,,specailly that special site. Little did I know that site is sanitized.
Recently here I was APPALLED at all the people saying how 'harmful' it was to them!!! First I heard it,,,but a necessary warning!!
Some people had lasting effects AFTER stopping it for a LONG time!! Like permanent!!
Who knows who is going to react like that!! MY new opinion of this protocol is it is frought with problems,,,NOT worth the risk.(and I am a risk taker)
Cant remeber the topic name or who started it,,,but READ that thread thourghly before starting such a venture!! Its a few pages long too,if I remember right!!
Its a great concept and IF it has helped somebody I am GLAD it did!!! How do you unring the bell if it backfires???
I would like to find the MAGIC cure also. I remain as a rock,,,not in a good way. I may as well be a rock with all my reactions to abx.!!! NONE, that is!!!May as well given my pet rock my abx,,,same result!!!

There are a couple of threads on this that you can look at, with lots of info and opinions.
I do salt/c along with many other things, and am convinced that it helps me. I don't think it's healthy for everyone.
I did salt/c for a couple months while I waited for my LLMD appt.
I did not see improvement, but might have had some herxing.
I did have my basal temps rise to a normal level and they have stayed there even after stopping the salt/c. I could even stop my thyroid supplement.
The people who wrote one of the salt/c websites were on abx first and said that people may need to be.

It had a terrible effect on my kidneys. It caused me major weakness, kidney aches, and total salt intolerance that persists to this day although slowly I'm recovering. I went from a halfway functional lymie to a basically bedridden CFIDS person for a few months from the salt/c. I could no longer tolerate my vitamin and mineral IVs since they're in isotonic saline. It was probably the worst intervention I ever tried and I've heard the same from a few others. I researched around and discovered many similar anecdotes that had been suppressed on lymestrategies or just not reported. Edema, high blood pressure, kidney problems, cardiac damage that didn't go away. There are a few success stories but I'm not sure how the bulk of people are doing since thousands apparently tried it at one time or another.
I'm slowly recovering thank god. There was a time after salt/c that just eating a veggie like swiss chard (which has sodium in it) would cause me a severe reaction, weakness, thirst etc. Buyer beware. If you're going to try it start with very low doses.
Salt tolerance varies by 300%. Kidneys and heart can be VERY stressed by excess salt.
