Is anyone familiar with "cold laser" therapy, for pain? Our LLMD recommended it, and I found a chiropractor in our town who offers that treatment. Would be interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with it, good or bad.

My PT here in New Jersey has a cold laser machine on loan. She is going to decide, based on experiences with it...whether or not to purchase it. She uses it on herself and her family (who all have Lyme) I have had two treatments with it so far (at very low levels) and I think it helps quite a bit. To me, it is VERY promising.

Thanks for your response. Can you give me a little more description of how it helps? Were you experiencing pain, and did your pain decrease after the session? Did the results last or were they temporary?

I have had very good results with cold laser therapy...moreso for decreasing the bacterial load from Lyme and the viral load from other viruses like Epstein Barr, cytomegalo virus, Haemophilus influenzae type b bacteria.

It sounds like I am attending the same PT as Cordor. I have had 5-6 treatments and I think it has really helped me (although of course I don't know how I would be feeling without the treatments). I would recommend that people try it.

I'd like to know if the skin/body is touched when cold laser treatments are done. It hurts my son to be touched as he has chronic pain from Lyme, Babs & Bart.
How long are the treatments? Covered by insurance? Are there any herxes afterwards? Does anyone know which practitioners do this treatment in the Chicagoland/northern Illinois area?
