I believe (I could be wrong) that not all antibiotics raise liver enzymes. Which one were you taking?

I am NOT a doctor, however, many times I've seen that if you stop the antibiotics for a short time the liver counts will go down and you can go back on them. Sometimes a lower dose is needed.
Hope that helps!

The liver repairs itself fairly well so you levels might fall when you stop antibiotics. In school I had to learn all about liver disease and most liver damage can be reveristed.
Also, some drugs do damage the liver more than others so ask you LLMD if you can switch antibiotics. Diflican from what I understand can be very damaging to your liver, but you can take some over the counter yeast medications if you have serious yeast issues.
Also, the more things you put into your body the more your liver has to work so you should avoid taking anything unnessesary.

My LLMD says before you go after lyme, you must clean up the body. Heal the gut, remove parasites and metals. This will remove a lot of the toxins your body is having to deal with. Then when you use abx to go after the lyme, your body can better handle the toxic side effects.

Milk thistle helps protect the liver

My doc also said nystatin is easier on the body because it's not absorbed out of the gut. So it'll sit there and kill some yeasts in the gut, but your body doesn't have to process it the way it does a systemic drug.
Wholeapproach.com has some info on other gentler yeast treatments- mostly diet (cutting out carbs, which helps me a LOT), and a good 'cocktail' of psyllium (it's fiber) and bentonite clay (which absorbs toxins, and some Lyme patnents take that stuff), mixed with acidophilus and capryl. You can buy all that stuff in a health food store really cheaply and dok'nt have to buy it from wholeapproach. It really makes sense as a way to deal with yeast- the fiber helps dislodge the fungus and the capryl (or caprylic acid) is like a natural nystatin (capryl is derived from coconut oil, which is why people sometimes just eat coconut oil for yeast). Bentonite can also absorb Lyme-related toxins according to my LLMD, and the Whole Approach folks say it helps with yeast. Acidophilus is probiotics.
