My LLMD said that cipro is made from cats claw. Does anyone know if this is true? I keep reading about all these bad side effects from Cipro. Are these true of Cats Claw too then?

THIS is the first I heard of that.
I took Cipro years ago and it caused me to lose my colon. I took it later when I got Lyme, and it helped for about 8 or 9 months, and then I relapsed.
I have been taking Cat's Claw steady for 19 months and have had NO problems with that that I know of.
They are NOT the same to be sure, even IF Cipro was extracted from it. I don't think it is, but if it is, that just proves that there is one more drug out that that man has concocted from nature and has ruined.

llmd said he would prescribe me Cats Claw cuz Cipro is derived from cats claw. Did he lie? He said if Cats Claw didnt work that he'd put me back on Cipro.
Im so sorry you lost your colon. What a terrible experience you went through. I hope you are healing and feeling better now. And adapting to the changes.

Like I said it is news to me that Cipro is derived from Cat's Claw. They certainly do NOT work the same. One is an herb, natural; and the other is a man made killer, abx. As far as my colon, I lost that in 1994 more than 5 years before I got Lyme. And yes, I have adapted nicely to that. Sure feels good to live without pain there at least.
I would NOT go back to Cipro if I were you for anything. It is certainly NOT the drug of choice for Lyme anyway. And since you still have your colon, evidently, it could be a huge detriment to you.
There are plenty of other things for bladder infections. I don't understand what is the matter with these ducks. I really don't. I am starting to feel they should all be sued a few times so they THINK. You know?

Cave, I wish I could understand any of that. It's 3am and I cant sleep. I do appreciate you posting it, and Im guessing by your last comment that no, its not the same. I wonder why he would tell me that? Either way Cipro made me feel better, but Cats Claw is working even more so Im sticking with the Cats Claw.
