I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and he said my front tooth needs a root canal really bad. When I was pregnant, the baby took up alot of my calcium( she was born with a tooth) and now I have a bad tooth because of it. I don't want to lose that tooth( because it's a front tooth) but I also don't want to get worse because of it. What should I do?

What are you worried about getting worse from?

If your tooth is bad and could get infected...then get the root canal....

Try and have no amalgams put in anywhere to be safe....

you may have pain in that socket as a result...and lyme I have heard likes to set up shop in the cavities of root canals...

but that's better than not addressing the reason for the root canal...isn't it???

stricktly your call....

Thank you so much. I was reading somwhere that if you have lyme disease and you had a root canal that it could get worse if you have one. I'm still not sure if I'm dealing with lyme or not and I didn't want to risk making it worse by getting the procedure done.

I'm minus my front 3 teeth!

2 front since 7th grade! as soon as my mouth had stopped growing, I was fitted for a partial plate and have worn it since! it's held up well.

me...from having had 1 root canal, and I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER! pull the tooth and be fitted with a partial plate. They can do that in short amount of time!

also, we have a wonderful lyme disabled dentist DAVE, on this board, email him since he took a leave from here due to all the fighting going on....

docdave130"at"msn.com he's happy to help folks! [Wink]

If you are not familiar with root canals, read "Root Canal Cover-Up" by George Meinig.
Amazon has a used copy for $10.

Anyone not familiar with the side effects of root canals, I will cite a few here -

Root canals can cripple the immune system;
Bacteria trapped inside the tooth migrate throughout the body. They may infect any organ, gland or tissue. The toxin can damage the heart, kidneys, joints, eyes, the brain, and endanger pregnant women.

I had root canals and had many of these problems. I got rid of all metals in my mouth including all root canals and am healthy and well after Lyme Disease.

You can take a look inside the book by pulling it up on Amazon.

Having met many patients who suffered with root canals and from my own experience, it is not worth saving a sick tooth, by killing it off, and keeping it as a dead tooth in the mouth that puts out the worst toxins 24/7 distributing it throughout the body.

Think and research a lot before you do and save yourself a lot of heartache, health and money.

Take care.

I'm due to have a root canal myself.

Shouldn't it be ok if you're on antibiotics? I'm currently on ceftin.

Right now i am taking a holistic appreaoch for the lyme and since reading some of your posts and doing my own reseasrch im becoming more aware of the damage these things can do. I wanted to somehow send u an email or private message if possible to ask you some questions if at all possible. If you dont mind can you email me. My email is [email protected] Thanks

My e-mail is [email protected].

You can check here and find the info about TOPAS tests for root canals that tells how bad a root canal is. I have posted it many times.

Take care.

No, antibiotics do not eliminate the infection caused by root canals. Look up thioethers and mercaptans. That is why we embalm bodies before burial. Similar toxin. Further, it is a hefty carinogen. Look at some of my posts about it.

No normal, regular, school med dentist will tell you nothing about this. It's been ignored and denied for decades by the profession/ADA. It's best to also consult a biological dentist who are aware of the misery amalgam brings and the even worse misery of root canal toxins.

Take care.
