Yay! Lymenet's back up. [Big Grin]

Starting yesterday, I've been having this horrible metallic taste in my mouth. I can't figure out what could be causing it. [Razz]

It colors all food and makes eating very unpleasant. I've been barfing too.

I saw some old posts saying Biaxin can cause this, but I'm on Rifampin + Septra, and metallic taste isn't listed as one of their side effects.

Part of me suspects the detox foot pads that I started yesterday too (yep, I'm a sucker), but I just can't see how they could have such an effect.

I have quite a few amalgam fillings, but I've never had a problem with them before now.

I'm probably overreacting, but I'm scared this is a sign of heavy metal toxicity and other horrors I've been reading too much about since Lymenet crashed.

Can't tell if I'm being paranoid...

The only time I had a metallic taste in my mouth was right before my (each of my muliple instances of) Bells Palsy. Apples tasted particularly metallic.

So, if you think that might be the cause, check your lip function - see if you can rub your lips together after putting on chapstick. And see if you can puff up your cheeks like a chipmunk and press on the cheeks, trying to hold your lips right and hold the air in your mouth. If you fail these tests, get acyclovir from your doctor asap to beat the bells palsy back. The quicker I got acyclovir, the faster it went away.
