Day 3.... and its not so bad.

I actually felt like Malarone had supercharged me into feeling better. That was yesterday.. only day two. Seems a little early doesn't it?

Today I'm back to where I was before starting it.. Tired, weak and dizzy.

It also doesn't help that every time I lay out 3 pills on the table, I think to myself, "There is $6.00".

It takes time.

I initially felt good on the Mepron. I think many start herxing about 4 days into it. That may be why you're starting to feel bad again.

Don't think about how much it costs!!!

VAM:

I initially felt good on the 6 dose Malarone also. After a few days I started to feel pretty crummy again. After a couple of weeks I had to lower my dose because I felt so ill. Though, I do think it worked.

I relapsed about a year later and am now on Mepron and Zith. Again, I felt great at first, crashed for a couple of months and, am starting to come out of the fog again on month 3.

Hang in there.

Tailz,

I really do hope you get approved.

For 180 tablets of Malarone, (6 per day for 30 days) the cash price was $1100!! With insurance it cost me $250.

If insurance didn't cover this for me, then I would not treat... no one in their right mind can afford $1100 a month.. Thats freaking crazy.

I'm noticing brain fog coming back... and this stuff is totally destorying my GI system.

My son is 3 weeks into a course of mepron. He has been really sick (dizziness, nausea, anorexia, severe weakness plus the usual lyme suspects) from the 3rd day onwards.

How long will this last? (variable from what I can glean)

We plod on in the hope that he will feel better soon....

I've been on Mepron for six months and feel significantly better. I take Biaxin and Artemisia with it. I hope your son is either taking Biaxin or Zithromax to prevent resistance.

I still get a loss of appetite (I hate calling it anorexia since I want to have an appetite!) and nausea. I try to eat high calorie items so I don't have to eat as much quantity wise.

I posted a few things I consume daily on the "My Dad thinks I have anorexia" thread. One is a fudge made with coconut oil, almond butter, raw cacao, etc. with agave syrup as a sweetener (my LLMD said it was okay).

My babs symptoms have improved significantly. In fact, I only get them now during a herx. I found that except for the appetite and nausea, all those other symptoms were apparently from the babs itself getting stirred up as all those symptoms are gone.

I would get so dizzy I could not walk without assistance.

Be sure he's eating enough when he takes his meds and has a high fat meal with the Mepron. That helps me with my nausea. Just knowing I will get nauseous if I don't eat enough motivates me to eat more.
