Hi everyone,

I posted last week under another thread about my 1 year old.

He was bitten by a tick in April and developed the bulls eye rash.

I just recently found out that I should see a LLMD so we have an appt. in 2 weeks with Dr. J.

However, he recently broke out in a rash - I thought it was a food allergy.

His regular pediatrician did a throat culture and said he tested positive for the Echo virus.

There is no treatment for the Echo virus - it just has to run it's course.

My question is - do you think the Echo virus is somehow related to the Lyme???

My pedi said it's definitely not related, but he is also not a LLMD.

I'm just wondering if you all could give me a little insight? I'll definitely be asking Dr. J when we go.

Thanks in advance!

Oh and also - his face has been breaking out lately and he has some pimples on his head (he scratches his head and I can see pimples under his hair).

His pedi says these are from sweating.

Any relation to the Lyme - or am I being Paranoid?

As Lyme patients, we are very suceptible to viruses. So it could be that your son's immune system allowed this opportunistic virus to come into being.

Lyme could still be the underlying problem.

Hang in there!!!

Awww, keep us posted on how this little guy does. I'm sure Lyme is the underlying problem here, so hang in there - and give him a hug!
