I posted the past few days about my daughter. Here are the facts. 4 weeks ago, had a tick/insect on her developed a bullseye rash, (didn't know what that was indicative of) a few days later red round bumps on hands and feet, small pimple like on her stomach(a few) the hand and feet turned into a red swollen itchy rash and the stomach pimples have incleased and now are on her stomach chest and down her legs. First dx was Hand foot and mouth (didn't believe it) New dr. said on Wednesday Lyme. Dr. just called and said Lyme was negative! I mentioned about Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I think the dr. is semi-literate lyme dr and very receptive to my research. Have appt at 3, yesterday my daughter was very pale and her eyes were lifeless. She has color in her face today! HELP what do I suggest to the dr. What blood tests???

You need a Western Blot by IGENEX LAB in CA. Nothing else will suffice. [except maybe MDL lab]
Tell the dr you will order the kit from Igenex if he will be willing to draw the blood and send it to the lab.
Igenex has tests for RMSF and bartonella also. I would suggest getting those as well.
good luck!

It may be too early for the tests to show a positive since it takes awhile for her body to make antibodies.
As tutu said, she needs an IgeneX WB but I'm not sure when she should have the test since it still might be too early. Call IgeneX, they will be able to tell you.
This is what happened this afternoon I got to the doctor and they took us right away
She wanted us to have had the blood work before we came but I misunderstood
So we went after the appt. and she ordered a bunch of tests, I was going to write them down but I didn't due to trying to not be a basketcase and keep Hannah calm
She had a CBC done and ordered it STAT the game plan was to start Hannah on Doxycycline if the CBC was irregular (not normal)
The doctor said she would call as soon as she had them, she called at 5pm to say they were not done and she would call first thing and to give Hannah the Amox.
She also ordered a panel, Rickesetti antibody, ERS (I think that was the initials) and a Hep panel, she said that sometimes that comes up positive if Hannah would have one of the other, I don't know...this is all so foreign to me.
Hannah's daddy still thinks I'm a nut...I don't...Hannah was pale white again today and got totally exhausted when we went outside and played basketball for 15 min. Got flush and sweaty..
In addition, I had her up in bed with me playing on my laptop and I came downstairs to fix the coffee for the am and put the dog out and came back up and she was fast asleep (NOT TYPICAL)javascript:void(0)
I have to lay with Hannah every night so she can play with my hair as she falls asleep.
Sorry I am rambling...totally stressed the *^%$ out! Posted by bettyg (Member # 6147) on :

I agree that it is too early for Lyme tests to register...hope things are better today.

Hannah woke up around 10:45 crying and saying she didn't feel well.
I got her back to sleep and then I laid awake and worried all night. My head is pounding.
She's awake with her usual insane itching on her hands and feet, put on the aveeno cream and now I am just sitting with her as she watches her tom and jerry.
javascript:void(0) Waiting patiently for the phone. No the Lyme came back negative (I knew it would) definitely too early. But I would bet everything I have at this point.
That she also has RMSF. She even had a few days of conjunctivitis which was a sign in one of the million articles! I still have so much to learn!
Thanks to everyone for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
