When I was treated back in 2000-2001 for my lyme, my LLMD never tested me for co-infections. He diagnosed me with Neurological Lyme and now I am relapsing and have a positive Western Blot. Could my relapse be co-infection related? It has been a little over 6 years since I stopped antibiotics. This darn thing slowly creeped up on me and I had no clue that it was coming. Little things have started to show up over the past year but now it seems I am losing my brain to the fog again and am worried it is neurological again.
Any input or help would be appreciated. Seeing my PCP tomorrow and my LLMD on 8/15.

Seeing your PCP and an LLMD could give you a confusing message. My PCP was a Lyme Illiterate Medical Doctor.

My PCP worked with my LLMD the last time. She actually had to give the approval for my IV antibiotics in order for my Insurance to cover it so I know she is somewhat understanding or at least willing to work with my LLMD.
She might go ahead and start me on oral ABX or give me the trazadone that I took before to help with my sleep. Also hoping she will prescribe the Ultram that was used for pain. That actually was the only thing that helped with my pain.

I'm one to always expect a co-infection when things come back or don't go away, but then perhaps that's because my LLMD has drilled it into my head.
But the thing about the lyme co-infection testing is that it doesn't always pick it up either and it too, like lyme can slip through the cracks, so it ends up being a clinical diagnosis.
I came back negative for bart and babs and yet my LLMD has been treating me for both anyway to see if I was having reactions due to my long medical history of symptoms.
I know that most will say they still test negative, but if you can still get treated, I do think you have an advantage, even with a negative results. But that's why we go to LLMD's. They know what they are looking for clinically as well as by test results.
