Just wondering. Has there been any studies to prove that it can't??
The reason I ask is because ever since I was dx'ed, I've been paranoid about sharing stuff with my son (food, drinks).
I used to do it all the time. I know if it is possible to pass the disease this way, then it would of already happened.
Am I the only one that thinks about this??

Transmission by any means other than tick bite has not been proven (except for pregnancy). They have found spirochetal dna in various body fluids but that does not mean that these methods are effective means to transmit spirochetes.

Yes. Do a search here. It is definitely transmittable through body fluids. I gave it to my husband who was very healthy, but the stress dealing with my disease problems, caught up with him. And I probably have the only grandchildren that were never kissed by me....their grandmother, while I still had the disease. I did a lot of hugging with head turned to side and a lot of washing hands.
Some eager researchers my doctor is familiar have collected the "material" from public telephones. Positive results.
Often healthy people get infected, but do not get ill. Think positive - he is just fine, and you will get well more quickly if you do not worry too much.
Take care.
