I know rashes can be any form. I was bit on my right leg by a large tick over a month ago.
THen, I developed a rash under my left armpit (closer to my bra line/on my trunk) 28 or 30 days later.
Went to four doctors - all said either poison ivy or dermatitis - The rash looks like scratch marks - long lines.
If you ever had shingles, it feels like that- but for the most part, it doesn't bother me a whole lot.
Qs: How long does a lyme rash stay if it were a lyme rash what works on it to decrease it do lyme rashes change form or stay the same Does the rash come with other symptoms?

I just had that on my inner right leg. I went to the doctor. He told me that I am wierd, and he could not identify it. So, he told me I had contact dermatitis and prescribed a cortizone cream for it. Thought Lymies were suppose to stay away from cortizones!!!
Needless to say I disagree with him, but who am I do differ with a Duck! I am totally fed up with Ducks!
Let me know what you find out. I think I have Bartonella along with Lyme.

Well, the thing that I noticed right away is that there was an itch and where I scratch "hard" become long lines of rash... I have never heard of this with anything other than a fungal or ivy rash --- so I do feel it is not lyme.

The rash looks like scratch marks - long lines.
Do a search for bartonella rash photo's.
Also, if you scratched before the rash showed up, and think that they are related, then it could be a skin degradation; I had that for a while: a scratch would lead to a line of petechiae, or tiny hemorhages.

thank you - did the search - doesn't look like that either. Sort of looks fungal to be honest. One doc said it looked like athletes foot and asked if I was wearing a wet bathing suit (which I do) often.
I am trying to figure out how long a lyme or lyme related rash usually lasts also,

The rash that I had lasted a week or two. It really seems to vary, from what I've been reading here for the last three and a half years.
Sometimes it goes away, and then comes back with antibiotic treatment. Some people have reported that it came and went for years.
So it looks like there is no definitive answer.

Actually, I've never seen a good answer for this, either. No one here has ever reported that they found a definitive treatment, that I can recall, unless they went into remission.

Yes. They can do either. Try to get pictures at each stage, for future reference.

Hooboy, that's a good one. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Some people have no other symptoms for a while. Some people get symptoms right away.
It's a lot easier to put two and two together if you get symptoms right away.
Since the lyme bacteria, Borrelia burgdorferi, infects the nerves, the symptoms may vary dramatically. It depends on which nerves they invade.

Hi Carol! I am actually feeling great barring the rash. It looks not ANYTHING like any of the photos. I am aware that the rashes can take any form, but feel this may not be related.
Someone mentioned that hydrocortisone makes a rash flare; the only thing that reacts to hydrocortisone is yeast - so the rash may be a fungal and not related to lyme, in spite of having lyme. I think that is the catch 22 here; is that not every rash or ailment will be related - yet you can still have it.
I am not stating I do not have it - I had a band 41 as reactive (whatever that means) so I could. That plus the rash points to probable. A day after I was bit I was horribly tired for two days with throat issues also - so again, it is more probable than not. I have to wait until Sept to see an LLMD though (boo!)

There are things you can do to strengthen your immune system while you wait for the appointment.
In my case, I decided to take cat's claw when I found out that I was positive for Lyme. I added in other supplements as I figured things out from reading here at LymeNet.
Fish oil (improves the quality of cell membranes) Magnesium (lyme bacteria uses up ours)
These two are also helpful for the mental health aspect of Lyme, reducing the anxiety and depression that are common.
There are a number of things touted as beneficial to the immune system.
