I just went to the Ortho surgeon today to have my knee aspirated for the second time. Thanks to this site, I knew enough this time to opt out of a shot of cortisone!

Anyway, just like the first time, the fluid from my knee was green, suggesting to the Dr. that it's (still) Lyme-infected. I find this oddly fascinating. Has anyone else experienced this? My PCP doesn't think you can diagnose LD from synovial fluid, and that the color of it means nothing, but the first time around, my green fluid tested positive, and then was confirmed with serology...

Either this is typical, or I'm the long-lost daughter of the Wicked Witch of the West! javascript:void(0)

That sounds like a "conventional" infection to me!!

I'm almost certain Lyme can be dxd using the synovial fluid.

Hmmm...

I don't know. When my niece was 5 (like 9 years ago) she had been complaining the back of her leg hurt. It turned out to be her knee and the synovial fluid was supposedly primrose yellow.

The pediatric orthopedist said that color was definately Lyme. I wonder if green is too?

The test on the synovial fluid was positive.

Just checking...
do you have ruby slippers? [Wink]
