I have an appointment on August 28th with a doctor who has experience in treating Lyme.

I have ordered panels 188, 189 from IGenex. believe that my Lyme has been around for 10-15 years. Will these panels suffice in testing for late stage Lyme?

thanx,
Rhonda

Hi feelfit

Hope you do in fact feel fit [Smile]

igenex is a good lab but you can still have lyme & test CDC negative.

At this point it is important to see what bands light.

Glad to hear you have a LLMD to guide you threw treatment. I would make sure to talk to him/her about possible co-infections. One of the many reasons why some remain chronic.

Lyme still remains a clinical diagnosis. Here is an article that explains reasons why you can still have lmye & test negative for it:

good luck on your journey to wellness [Smile]

also, if you decide to do co-infections, we've been told lately about FRYE LABS, ARIZONA does this for $250 vs. IGENEX's $900 fee!!

so let us know and i'll give you more info at that time! [Smile]

BettyG,

I'm sorry to say that the lab didn't take very good care of me. Stick with shipping your samples to them, but don't do like I did and fly into PHX to have an actual appointment.

I was told that I would be better off coming in as a patient. But once I arrived there the office staff did not seem to have a routine for this kind of care. Over the phone I was told that I could do the full package for the discounted price and that since I would be coming in from out of state the office visit would be discounted too. I asked to and did pay in full at the end of my visit.

I am still getting bills for each individual line item at $1500 more than the quoted amount three months later. I have been on the phone with their accounting department every month since getting the first bill. They need a better system.

Also, the final report sent to me showed NO antibodies for co-infections. (Not that surprising.) I was supposed to get two copies of the blood smear photos. Only one came. It showed NO pathogens. But the written (one paragraph) report on the medical practice's letterhead stated that Babesia-like and Bartonella-like organisms were seen using microscopy.

I am very disappointed with both the inconsistent results and the failures of their office procedures.

So, don't send in your sample with too high of expectations, this lab is still a little rough around the edges.

Igenex it is not.
