Someone here some time back mentioned that Buhner recommends an herb or some kind of alternative for tinnitus, but I couldn't find that, so if anyone can recall what his recommendation is, I surely would appreciate knowing.

Thanks,

I don't know either.

I got tinnitus for more than a year and it just disappeared after B's core protocol. It took though about 13 months to go for good, it was one of my most persistent symtpoms. It gradually came back less frequently until I realized I had it no more.

It's definitively gone (since January this year, if I remember well).

I just took all core protocol herbs plus other treatments for co-infections, so I don't know what was causing it/ what made me rid of it...

I hope someone will still drop by here to help you.

Sarah, Thanks for your input. I have never had IV's, just orals, for Lyme and have been off abx for approximately 3 years now, but the tinnitus persists. I had taken Quinine and Zith, plus other abx that may have caused some damage in the past, so maybe I'm just stuck with the ringing.

Selma, interesting that Buhner's whole protocol has worked regarding your tinnitus, as the ringing is one tough cookie to eliminate.

Thank you both.

I am just reading Buhner's book trying to decide if I want to try his protocol so I checked. In his tx section he doesn't specify anything for tinnitus, but earlier he groups eye and ear things together. Above his core protocol he recommends Stephania for occularborreliosis. Hope this helps.

You could post the question at planetthrive.com. Buhner answers questions there. It takes some time though.

lifeline. I could be wrong but I thought somewhere in his book he recommended vinpocetine. I took that for tinnitus and it worked like a miracle for three days on the one ear, no change on the other. I could never achieve that level of recovery again with increased doses.

Doesn't mean it might not work for you.

If you go to the Meniere's website there's some guys herbal/vitamin protocol that is supposed to help. John's program or something like that. I had one Meniere's person tell me it works.

You start with bioflavonoids or some such and add one thing to the regimen each week. Good luck!

I think I remember the tinnitus being a nerve damage issue. If you are wanting to try something for nerves, the Pinella really seemed to help me. It is supposed to detox the nerves/brain.

Selma, I will check out planetthrive...didn't know Buhner had a website.

mjo, I have heard of vinpocetine, and I will give that a try. If it worked for you, maybe there is a chance it could work for me, also. I have one ear that is worse. I do sleep with a "white noise machine" which helps some. Thanks!

I hadn't thought about the Menier's website, but will also check that out.

Ruth, It could very well be nerve damage, I just don't know. But, I will check on Pinella; good to know of options. There again, if it worked for you, might work for me!

I do appreciate all this help. Thanks all.

I was digging in my old emails today and I found an article on tinnitus from Dr. Elizabeth A. Dinces titled simply "Tinnitus." It contains more info and references than anything else I have.

Can anyone find and post a link to her article? It's really, really long or I'd cut and paste the article myself. I think it was published sometime in 2004. Thanks.
