I'm wondering if any of you out there who use Lyrica have found that it helps with anxiety? I know it's mainly prescribed for nerve pain.

One time I took it to empty stomach I got this strange euphoric state which lasted for hours. Of course during that I had no anxiety... but I was also very tired and felt like drunk so I wasnt able to do anything. But I've heard that it has helped some persons with anxiety.

I've been on Lyrica for a sleep disorder for almost 6 months. I can't really say it helps with anxiety, but it sure helps me sleep. My neuro wanted me to take at night and during the day, but I was falling asleep at work and had to stop the day dosage.

The first 3 times I took It I got a weird heavy head sensation and then I felt a little slow and depressed, kinda like my thought processes were slowed down.
Now I take it and it does help me sleep, it leaves me a little hungover in the morning. I take about 100 to 200 mg at bedtime with ambien and benadryl for allergies and mold sensitivities.

I take lyrica at night to help with sleep (50 mg). Sometimes it works well and other nights not so well. The one thing I will say is that can help put me into a deep sleep...almost too deep sometimes (I wake up not feeling so well) so I am going to try 25mg at night instead to see if that might be better.

Andrew, Are you taking magnesium supplements? Omega-3 supplements?
Both of these help with anxiety and depression.

Carol - tons of them. (1000-1200mg magnesium), lots of fish oil.
The anxiety is from Bart, Lyme, and/or the quinolone I'm on.

Klonopin has helped my daughter, but she's hooked now.
She says, "If I have to stay on this the rest of my life, I don't care, it works"
