Hi

I did six weeks (6 days a week) 2 sessions of 50 minutes (10 minutes to go down and up)and felt like I got my brain back. My memory and everything else was so much better. Still have joint/muscle pain but it isn't as bad. Your symptoms do eventually come back. You have to do maintenance to keep some effect. I think I was at 2.6 ATA. I'll check on it for you Hope it helps you.

Typically, how much does this cost?

I heard it's quite pricey.

Has anyone's insurance covered this??

My insurance covered it. Then I stopped for awhile...and when I tried to go back to it, they said they would not pay for it anymore.

It helped me more than ANYTHING has.
Problem is....my symptoms DID return about a month after I stopped.

I would also like to add to my above post......I was NOT on antibiotics at the time of my Hyperbaric treatments.

I have heard that the treatments are much more effective if you are also on antibiotics. Unfortunately, I have become allergic to almost all antibiotics. That is why my Lyme doc asked me to do HBOT in the first place. I was doing very poorly, and was beginning to get a gray tinge to my skin.

The HBOT brought back color to my skin and an appetite that had missing for months.

Hubby is doing it now......2 to 3 sessions a week depending on schedule, etc. He is still on ABX while doing this.

His first three sessions to "test" were $50 each. Since then it has cost $60 per session.

I didn't even try turning it in to the insurance company. I just didn't think insurance would cover it. Guess I'll give it a try since cordor got some treatments covered. Thanks for the info.

Keebler,
You should talk to Judy Sudylo, who has an ad on the initial Lyme chat page.

She posts here sometimes, but I can't remember her handle.

I did HBOT for single days a couple times (2 dives per day) then for a week, 2 dives per day. Honestly, all I think they did was make me herx worse.I am pretty sure I was on abx at the time, but not IV. Insurance didn't pay for it, but there was a cheap place in Baltimore at the time.

Thanks for the answer of everyone. I already did more then 80 hyperbarics treatments. It is exhausting and I would like to know if someone had permanent amelioration. It is difficult to know when it is enough. I am heirxing a lot . I am under antibiotics, but when is it time to stop or did I put to much hope on that treatment?

Hi folks,

Sorry that I did not respond to this thread. I have been in Puerto Rico for the past few weeks. But I am back and would be very happy to answer any questions.

Feel free to email me or if you would like me to call you send me your number and the best time to call. I am in New Jersey that's EST folks.

There are a few links on my web page, which does need to be updated. I now have two chambers, for the most part I mostly offer HBOT for lyme...

With the exception of one person with chronic Fatigue Syndrome [bonk] yup, I dive him on a lyme protocol LOLOLOL enough said!

As for the origin of this thread,,, HBOT is effective for lyme when used anecdotally. It will work together with antibiotics. The key is to use the antibiotics that are targetting YOUR infection & co infection.

It does not work for everyone. Although I have been seeing that there is a gradual return of residual symptoms I have noticed that with a healthy life style that targets the immunne system. You will be able to maintain the gains of HBOT with maintanance therapy.

I have clients that come in for (one or two )sessions once every month to six weeks. Others that come down every several months.

It depends on your many factors lifestyle, stress management, diet and the strain of lyme that has affected you...IMHO

I hope that this answered some questions,

Blessings,

Julia
