For those of you with young kids who have lyme - what is their treatment like?

i'm sorry if i sound paranoid to you, but i really hope that anyone who takes their kid (s) to dr. j and who wants to answer your question will find out a little about you and then trade PM's, rather than posting specific info on the board.
too much is at stake.

I've found the Lyme guidelines (burrascano)since this post & read a little about suggested treatment for kids. I'm hesitant about the antibiotics with a 4 year old though. Is that what everyone here is doing? (don't mean to scare anyone away )

Citron, I did few weeks of amoxy with my little one, but found out herbs work as well (or better, in her case). You need a combo and it's as 'simple' as giving just one abx a day. They don't cause the GI candida so your little one doesn't have to be on an anti-yeast diet either.
She improved and got totally well after a few months (she had only acute lyme though).
The problem is the busy schedule of herbal intake and bitterness of some herbs.
If she gets bitten again, I'll start with herbs immediately this time.
Check here for Buhner's posts.
My daughter took all 5 main herbs frm core protocol plus some others to catch coinfections.
You can search for older posts of mine (she got infected in summer 2006 and got treated until October, that's the time I was posting about that).
Good luck, Selma

Mistake: I wanted to say "it's NOT as simple as giving abx a few times a day". Herbs need more work (for moms) as they wrok best in combo.

Mine are not as young as yours(9,11,14)but all are on abx. They seem to be progressing well.
All my kids Sx were quite different. One has fatigue, headaches, and joint pain. One has fatigue, headaches, short term memory issues, and concentration and behavioral issues. One has every Sx under the sun except fatigue.
Feel free to pm me if you have ?s I might help with(I would but I haven't figured out how to yet)
