I have tested positive for both Lyme and Bab. I have terrible night sweats, fevers, chills, memory problems, stiffness, muscle aches, the works.
Does Babesiosis or Lyme ever go away? I was treated initially about 3 years ago for the Bab, and about 5 years ago for Lyme. I've never seemed to have gotten rid of the symptoms as they come and go.
Do these infections cause other diseases? I'm scared.

It sounds like you still have it. I would go see an LLMD for evaluation. You can get better with treatment. And, yes, the symptoms can be worse at times and better at times.

An LLMD is a Lyme Literate doctor ... sorry I should have written that out.
You can get the disease into remission so you don't have symptoms. You need to treat the babs and Lyme until symptom free ... since you're still having symptoms, I would go see a specialist who can help you to feel better.
You don't want to treat just the symptoms, you want to treat the cause, which is bacteria/protozoa.

OH MY! How long were you treated for Lyme and babs????
Most rheumies know NOTHING about treating Lyme disease....but there ARE a few who do.
An LLMD is a Lyme Literate MD. They are rare birds. You really need to be seen by one.
Go over to the Seeking a Doctor forum and get some names for your area.
I was treated for lyme for if I remember correctly 3 weeks with oral antibiotic. I can't recall the treatment for Bab, but I believe I was given quanine. Hope I spelled it correctly. Thanks.

Find an LLMD as fast as you can dial that phone!!!
Quinine needs to be taken along with clindamycin in order to be effective. There's also mepron combined with zithromax that is effective.

I had lyme 4 years ago and thought I was done, 8 weeks of amox had appeared to do the trick. Weird symptoms started up about 4 months ago, finally tested positive for lyme (IgM western blot) and babs (FISH) last month and I am just finishing one month of zithromax, not sure what will happen next.
I never heard babesia could go dormant for 3 YEARS??
Are you sure you didn't get reinfected? I got babesia twice, but I had two tick bites.
I got recurrent babesia but it kept coming a few weeks after stopping treatment. Or a few days. Never knew it could come back after years going dormant.
