I am getting a Lyme test through a Lyme Literate Doctor and he also requested a Yeast test.
Anyone had a Yeast test and Why? What does this tell?
Thanks,
Rob

Most of us with lyme deal with yeast at some point. Yeast overgrowth is very common among lyme patients esp. during and after treatment with antibiotics. Yeast and lyme share some similar symptoms and to treat properly your llmd probably wants to know where you stand with both so he can treat most effectively. There is a lot to learn about this topic. Try the search feature at the top of the page and read through some of the posts on yeast.
Good luck, Rich

Count yourself as lucky to have a dr. who checks for yeast.
Someone here mentioned a study where candida was actually found as part of tick barf.
Also, if you have been sick for a while, prior to diagnosis, there's a good chance your gut flora are out of balance (dysbiosis), which lets candida flourish, and other bacteria. Can get leaky gut from this, and also your body will not get the full nutrition it needs to fight pathogens.
