This goes out to all my fellow Bicillin-users: [Big Grin]

I start Bicillin very recently (1.2mu twice weekly). So far, it's been fantastic. It's definitely my favorite drug.

It's probably too early to render a final verdict, but my Bicillin herxes are *relatively* gentle.

(Me and Bicillin: [kiss] )

However, I've started to worry that maybe it's not sufficiently powerful when taken alone, and that's why I haven't been hit very hard yet.

Should a cyst-buster be taken with it? If yes, what kind?

I have heard of people taking Zith with Bicillin. I am curious what the rationale for this is. Is Zith a cyst-buster?

Does Bicillin cross the blood-brain barrier? This is very important to me because I have tons of neuro-symptoms and recently, brain fog.

Also, is is possible to treat Bartonella simultaneously? Could one take Levaquin too?

I am really worried that my Bart will get out of control while I'm working on Lyme. [Frown]

Ideally, I'd like to take a cyst-buster or Bart drug that comes in injection-form too. I haven't heard of anything like this, though.

I'd appreciate it very much if people could be specific as to drug names and dosages. Thank you!

My llmd believes that bicillin is a great drug for pushing the keetes into a cyst form. So, adding a cyst buster might be beneficial.

For a while I took septra along with bicillin to hit bart and lyme at the same time.

Maybe your doc is starting you slow to avoid horrible herxes.

Feel better.

I was on 1.2 million a week, which my LLMD said was a stealth dose: the spirochetes can't feel it's presence, don't know it's there, so they come out of their cysts and get zapped.
I did feel it was too weak, so he gave me a couple of other things to take together for 2 days a week only; Tetracycline and Biaxin, if i remember correctly.

Sad but true. It's the blind leading the blind...

Actually I'm afraid you may be giving them too much credit...

My LLMD seems to be more agressive,

I take 2.4mu of bicillin 2x a week, 1000 mg Biaxin, 200 mg minocycline,400mg of plaqunil along with 1000 mg of benemid.

After 5 months I feel as if I am beginning to turn the corner.

I am more alert and motivated with much less pain.

Except for herxes wich have been pretty rough.

I never knew just how bad I felt until I begain having GREAT DAYS!!

We believe I have had Lyme for over 20 yrs.

Take Care,
Ken

wow Tickn, I like the way your LLMd thinks. Did he start you off the bat with this combo, or something not as strong. what was your very first treatment consisting of? I can suggest a more aggressive approach to my LLmd,
Jenin

Cave, do you know if Zith is a cyst-buster? Has it caused any stomach problems for you? Why did you stop Biaxin??

Jen, don't forget to ice your buns beforehand. It really helped me.

Ken, I think all of that would have killed me! Goodness. Seriously, you're made of some tough stuff. [shake]

I would love to hear more from others.

I was on Bicillin 1.2's 3 times per week. At the same time with Zith 4 or 5 days a week (one 600 mg) and flagyl 2 days per week (250 mg 3 X day).

Zith is not a cyst buster, but it goes after a different form of the borrelia. You could take Zith or Biaxin, plus Plaquenil or Flagyl (cyst busters) with the Bicillin to go after all three forms at once so there's nowhere to hide.

We tried Bicillin ... it didn't work for me, but I was going to be taking Mepron, Art, Biaxin, and Plaquenil with it.

You definitely need a cyst buster or you will relapse.

WHY would your dr WANT to create cysts? That form is difficult to get rid of. So if his plan is to create them, he needs to put you on a cyst buster regularly. [not necessarily every day....but on a regular basis]

Thanks all. I am going to ask for a cyst-buster although honestly, I don't think I'm up to it right now.

Any opinions on whether it's okay to delay cyst-busting until later on in treatment? [confused]

Prior experiences have taught me the value of pacing.

Also, does anyone know the half life of this stuff? I have a feeling it's quite long because my herxes are getting steadily worse with time.

I have a feeling it's building up in my system with each additional shot, and has recently hit a threshold level where the ketes are dying off big time. [dizzy]

Oh yes, Cave, as to the auditory hallucinations:

Last night I was convinced there was a rainstorm. Such violent gushing and fierce wind!

Then I looked out the window to see that all was dry and still. [Eek!]
